The Airweave is a pillow that is designed to be cool to the touch, improve airflow, and evenly distribute weight. To accomplish this goal, they use a proprietary type of material – called Airflow – that features an interwoven design that the company claims is superior to standard down, memory foam, and gel pillows.

Our favorite thing about the Airweave pillow is that it helps provide neck support. Our least favorite thing about this pillow is that it only comes in one size.

Is the Airweave pillow right for you?

This pillow is designed for people who frequently toss and turn throughout the night. Their “airfiber” filling is made out of a proprietary blend of materials that the company claims is designed to help reduce motion transfer.

After extensive testing, we determined that the company lives up to its claims. The Airweave is best for side and back sleepers who tend to overheat and move frequently while sleeping.

The interwoven core helps to improve airflow and gives this pillow a “cool to the touch” feeling. Maintaining a cool body temperature is one of the most important things you can do to help optimize your sleeping environment and we found that the Airweave pillow accomplishes that goal.

Features of the Airweave pillow

The aforementioned “airfiber” core is the main distinguishing feature of this pillow. The core is made out of a proprietary blend of fibers that, according to our testing, definitely helps improve airflow and reduce motion transfer.

The pillow is also designed to be easy to maintain and clean. The coolest thing about this pillow is that the internal material is completely eco-friendly. The airfiber core is made out of entirely recyclable plastic that helps eliminate landfill waste, unlike other pillows with traditional cores.

After testing out the Airweave over an extended period of time, we rate it as a very firm pillow. Very firm pillows are best for back or side sleepers who want added neck and head support. They usually aren’t the best for stomach sleepers, unless you know that you prefer a firm pillow.

The airfiber core is the main feature that contributes to the firmness of this pillow. If you check out the product page on the official Airweave website, you’ll see that the company has a firmness scale where they rate their airfiber technology as being more firm than water, memory foam, and spring.

Customer reviews have confirmed that this is an extremely firm pillow. Most reviews praised the firmness level, claiming that it helps provide support and reduces shoulder and neck pain.

Durability and Construction

The contents of the Airweave pillow include one outer cover, one airfiber ring core, and 2 airfiber inserts.

The inserts are constructed out of 100% airfiber, a proprietary blend of recycled polyethylene materials that the company invented with the specific goal of improving airflow and reducing motion transfer. This airfiber core is the main differentiating factor that sets this pillow apart from the competition. It’s the reason why this pillow has such a firm feel, and the reason why is reduces motion transfer.

We found that the airfiber core retained the its firm feel after extensive use and repeated washing. We’ve all had the unfortunate experience of buying a new pillow that feels so comfortable the first few times we use it, only to have it flatten out and fall apart over time. We’re happy to report that the Airweave holds up perfectly and feels like new even when it isn’t.

Temperature control

Maintaining a cool body temperature is one of the most important components of sleep hygiene – the best practices you should follow to optimize your sleep – yet it’s something that most people don’t think about when shopping for a pillow.

The material in the core of the Airweave pillow is designed to be “breathable”, meaning that it increases airflow which helps reduce heat buildup while you’re sleeping. Through our testing process we determined that the Airweave definitely helps achieve this goal.

When compared to a regular pillow from a competing brand, we found that our testers woke up less frequently throughout the night due to overheating and didn’t sweat as much.

What sizes and colors are available?

The pillow is only available in white and is only available in one size. Here are the most important stats for the Airweave pillow:

  • Dimensions: 15.7″ x 22.4″ x 4.3″
  • Weight: 2.2 lbs

Let’s be clear: the Airweave is not a cheap pillow, even when compared to other premium brands like Pluto, Infinity, Nest, Mediflow, and Luxe. If you’re on a budget, you should definitely look elsewhere. This pillow is designed for people who are willing to spend big for a significantly better pillow. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

How much does the Airweave pillow cost?

The Airweave costs $200. Every purchase ships for free within the contiguous United States. If you live in Hawaii or Alaska the company recommends that you contact them for a shipping estimate.

Trial period

Airweave offers a 100-night trial for all of their products. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information about whether the pillow is covered by this trial period. The terms and conditions of the trial period state that it applies to “mattresses, toppers, portables, traveler, or futons”.

At this time we don’t know if the trial period applies to the pillows as well. We’ve reached out to the company for comment and will update this review when we hear back.

Care and maintenance

The pillow cover is machine washable. Make sure that you remove the cover from the core before washing it, since using a machine to clean the core can result in damage.

You can rinse the airfiber core with water only.
