Helix Midnight Luxe Performance Test Results

The Helix Midnight Luxe is around a 5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a medium feel.

This firmness level can usually accommodate most sleeper types but I found the mattress to be too soft for heavier-set stomach sleepers.

We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

The multiple foam layers of the mattress provided me with enough pressure point relief while the coil unit helped support my joints.

We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 6 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

The mattress contains multiple layers of memory foam which I found to be quite heat-retentive. I don’t recommend this mattress to hot sleepers.

We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 10 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

For a hybrid mattress, the Helix Midnight Luxe acts and feels just like an all-foam mattress when it comes to absorbing cross-mattress movement, making it a good choice for couples.

We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

Reinforced edge coils surround the entire mattress giving it excellent edge support. I never felt like I was in any danger of rolling off the edge of the bed.

Note that the Luxe is the mid-range model. There is also a much cheaper base model Midnight and a more expensive Midnight Elite you can choose from.

There are 3 firmness options with the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid: plush, medium-firm and firm.

The plush version is best for side sleepers while the medium-firm version can accommodate most sleeper types. The firm version is best for those who sleep on their backs or stomachs.

We rate the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

The multiple foam layers of the mattress provided more than enough pressure point relief. I never woke up with any sort of pain either from my main pressure points nor my joints.

We rate the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

Even with multiple layers of foam, the mattress still did a great job at dissipating any heat retention. I definitely would recommend this mattress to those who sleep hot.

We rate the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid an 8 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

Yet another benefit to having multiple foam layers is that it absorbs any sort of movement. I barely felt any motion transfer when trying the mattress out.

We rate the Leesa Sapira Chill Hybrid a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

This is where the multiple foam layers work against the mattress a little bit – there barely was any edge support even with reinforced coils.

We rate the Bear Elite Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

The copper-infused memory foam comfort layer of the mattress gave me enough pressure point relief and compression without comprising any support for my lumbar area.

We rate the Bear Elite Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

As I’ve mentioned, the mattress Celliant cover is temperature regulating which means you sleep cool when it’s hot and sleep warm when it’s cold.

We rate the Bear Elite Hybrid an 8 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

Even with only one layer of memory foam, the mattress still did a great job at deadening any cross mattress movement making it a good choice for those who share a bed.

We rate the Bear Elite Hybrid a 10 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

Aside from reinforced edge coils, the mattress also contains reinforced edges which gives it amazing edge support.

The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe did an amazing job during my comfort performance tests that it gets full marks when it comes to pressure relief and support.

Another thing I liked a lot about the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe is that it did not retain a lot of heat which makes it perfect for hot sleepers.

Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Performance

The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe comes in 3 different firmness options: soft, medium and firm. The soft version is for those who sleep on their sides while the medium version can accommodate most sleeper types. The firm version is for back and stomach sleepers.

We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe a 10 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

The mattress provides both compression and pressure relief which makes it a good choice for those who suffer from joint and chronic pain.

We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

Almost all of the layers of the mattress contain some form of actively cooling material which helps keep the mattress cool.

We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

The mattress’ plushness works against it in this case and I experienced a lot of motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner.

We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

Even with reinforced edge coils, the mattress’ very soft surface did not help much in the edge support department. In fact, it was pretty much non-existent.

Alternate pick: Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro

Nolah Evolution

Pros

  • Soft and luxurious
  • Good for all sleeper types
  • Helps relieve back pain
  • Cooling

Cons

  • Edge support could be better
  • Can be pricey

Why it’s one of the best

Not only is the Nolah Evolution durable but it’s the best hybrid mattress on this list. But the best thing about it, in my honest opinion anyway, is its ability to help alleviate any back pain.

You also get zoned support thanks to its Tri-Zone coil unit and what this means is you get extra support in areas that you need it the most such as your back, shoulder and hips.

The Nolah Evolution also contains actively cooling materials in each of its layers which helps the mattress not retain any heat.

The soft version is best for strict side sleepers while the medium version can accommodate all sleeper types. The firm version is best for those who sleep only on their backs or stomachs.

We rate the Nolah Evolution a 9 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

The mattress’ foam layers did a great job at providing pressure point relief while the mattress’ coil unit provided targeted support as well as helping with spinal alignment.

We rate the Nolah Evolution a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

As I’ve mentioned, the mattress contains actively cooling materials in each and every layer which makes the Nolah Evolution one of the most cooling mattresses on this list.

We rate the Nolah Evolution a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

Although not the best when it comes to motion isolation, the mattress wasn’t the worst either. You may experience a bit of motion transfer only if you share a bed with a partner heavier than  you are.

We rate the Nolah Evolution a 7 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

The mattress has a border gusset that not only acts as its support but also helps with air circulation all throughout the mattress.

Alternate pick: Nolah Natural

Cooling just like the Nolah Evolution, the Nolah Natural’s latex foam layers provided more responsive support that’s helpful for those with joint problems.

Why it’s one of the best

Made specifically for heavy people, the Titan Plus Luxe is built to withstand heavier weights without any danger of premature sagging.

Aside from its durability, what I like about the Titan Plus Luxe is its ability to perform consistently well in all areas such as comfort and pressure relief to edge support and cooling.

With its medium-firm feel, the Titan Plus Luxe is good for all sleepers of any size and can provide them with the support that they need.

The comfort and support layers of the mattress provide both lumbar and back support which is especially important for those who weigh well over 300 pounds.

We rate the Titan Plus Luxe an 8 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

Even without any actively cooling materials, the mattress sleeps quite cool making it a good choice for hot sleepers.

We rate the Titan Plus Luxe a 7 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

I experienced a very small amount of motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner but it won’t be a problem if you share a bed with someone who weighs less than you do.

We rate the Titan Plus Luxe a 10 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

Reinforced edge coils surround the entire perimeter of the mattress giving it extra edge support. In fact, the Titan Plus Luxe has one of the best on this list.

Pros

  • Plush and cushioning
  • Good for those with chronic pain
  • Great for couples
  • Cooling

Cons

Why it’s one of the best

If you think really soft mattresses can’t possibly be durable, think again. The Puffy Royal mattress feels almost cloud-like but it can and will last you a very long time.

The Puffy Royal does an excellent job at cradling your joints without jeopardizing any of the support to your back and lumbar area.

Containing more foam layers than most, the Puffy Royal mattress absorbs movement very well making it a good choice for those who share a bed.

As per my tests, the mattress did an outstanding job at reducing pressure, especially on the hips and shoulders.

We rate the Puffy Royal an 8 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

Even with its layers upon layers of foam, the Puffy Royal did not retain any heat. I would recommend it to those who sleep hot.

We rate the Puffy Royal a 9 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

For a hybrid mattress, the Puffy Royal performed just like an all-foam mattress at absorbing any sort of movement.

We rate the Puffy Royal a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

The mattress does contain reinforced edge coils but the multiple foam layers are too plush for it to make a ton of difference.

Pure latex is naturally cooling and the mattress did not retain any heat whatsoever making it a good choice for hot sleepers.

We rate the Eco Terra Latex Hybrid a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

Though bouncier than polyfoam, the mattress did well in my motion isolation tests. I barely felt any movement when I tried it out with a partner.

We rate the Eco Terra Latex Hybrid a 10 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

For a mattress that does not contain any reinforced edge coils, it did an amazing job at providing edge support.

#9. SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid

Reddit-approved mattress brand testing process
SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid

Pros

  • Suitable for all sleeper types
  • Affordable
  • Good for chronic pain
  • Pressure relieving

Cons

  • Sleeps hot
  • Not suitable for heavier-set sleepers

Why it’s one of the best

For its (very affordable price), the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid performs just as well as a mid-range or even some high-end mattress brands.

With 2 types of memory foam, you get pressure relief and compression that can help alleviate the symptoms of chronic pain such as fibromyalgia.

I like that I get that cradled-in feel of classic memory foam with the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid but I never felt like I was stuck in the bed while switching positions.

Specs at a glance

SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid Performance

The SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid has a medium feel that can unfortunately feel softer for heavier-set sleepers. This might compromise heavier stomach sleepers’ spinal alignment which is why I would only recommend it to back and side sleepers of average weight.

We rate the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

Multiple memory foam layers provide that deep compression that only classic memory foam can provide but the best thing about the mattress is that there’s never that stuck in the mud feel.

We rate the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid a 5.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.

The memory foam layers of the mattress retained a very significant amount of heat which is why I would not recommend it to hot sleepers.

We rate the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.

Though not the best, the motion isolating properties of the mattress is not as bad as some others that I have tried. You may experience a small amount of motion transfer with the mattress.

We rate the SweetNight CoolNest Hybrid a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.

Even with its edge coils, the mattress’ foam layers offset its effectiveness which is why there’s barely any edge support.

Alternate pick: SweetNight CoolNest Memory Foam

If you prefer an all-foam version, check out the SweetNight CoolNest Memory Foam mattress.

With this mattress, you will get that sunk-in feel along with the deep compression of classic memory foam of the old days. Motion isolation is also a bonus.

Cocoon by Sealy Chill Hybrid Performance

A 6 on the mattress firmness scale, the Cocoon by Sealy Chill Hybrid has a medium-firm feel that can accommodate most sleeper types.

However, heavier-set stomach sleepers may find themselves dipping into the mattress especially in the hip area which would lead to long-term issues.

We rate the Cocoon by Sealy Chill Hybrid a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

You get the benefits of both an innerspring and memory foam mattress with the Cocoon by Sealy Chill Hybrid which means you get pressure point relief and responsive support.

I noticed that with continued use, the mattress edge support slowly dwindled. You will find yourself rolling off the edge of the bed.

How we chose these mattresses

We picked these mattresses based on a complete list of factors that we believe make up not just a good mattress that’s one that’s durable . We used the following criteria:

  • Pressure relief – Everyone has pressure points and this is important when it comes to choosing the right mattress. Depending on a person’s sleeping position, mattress firmness can greatly affect whether you would get enough pressure relief or not. We chose mattresses that offer pressure relief.
  • Cooling – Sleeping hot is the number one cause of sleeplessness. Choosing mattresses that offer superb cooling capabilities is crucial to getting a good night’s sleep.
  • Firmness – Mattress firmness correlates to one’s preferred sleeping position and we chose mattresses that can suit most, if not all, sleeping positions.
  • Motion isolation – Picking a mattress that offers good motion isolation is important if you share a bed with a partner. We chose mattresses that are suitable for couples.
  • Edge support – Not only does edge support help (and protect) those who prefer sleeping close to the edge of the bed, having a mattress with good edge support also provides you with a wider mattress surface.
  • Durability – We chose mattresses that we know would last long and ones that come with reasonable return policies.

Conclusion

It’s easy to be swayed by a lot of mattress brands’ marketing speak these days but we made it easy for you to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The mattresses on this list have been tried and tested at our Sleepline Testing Studio and our tests have proven them to be worthy to be called the most durable mattresses of 2026.
