Coop Home Goods claims that their original pillow is “the most reviewed pillow on the internet”. While we can’t confirm whether that claim is true or not, there are definitely a plethora of reviews from customers who’ve purchased this product.

In this review, we’re going to test out all of the pillows that Coop Home Goods offers and find out whether they live up to the company’s claims. Are these really the best, most affordable premium pillows on the market? Or are they duds that you should pass on?

Let’s find out.

Who should buy a Coop Home Goods pillow?

Coop Home Goods offers a few different models of pillow: the Original, a medium-firm pillow; Eden, a soft pillow; a Body Pillow; a Travel and Camping Pillow; and a Toddler Pillow.

The Original Pillow is great for side and back sleepers. People who sleep on their side need the extra spine support to help maintain proper posture, and back sleepers also tend to want extra support.

The Eden is a soft pillow that is best for stomach and back sleepers. People who sleep on their belly definitely should use a soft pillow, since it helps prevent your spine from resting at uncomfortable angles. Some back sleepers also like to “sink in” to their pillow. For those back sleepers, the Eden is a great choice.

All Coop Home Goods pillows are hypoallergenic, which is great if you have breathing difficulties while sleeping. These American-made products are also cruelty-free, so you can rest easy knowing that no animals were harmed while manufacturing these pillows.

Features of Coop Home Goods pillows

The pillows are made out of viscoelastic polyurethane and polyester fill, a bamboo-derived viscose rayon and polyester case, and a polyester liner.

These pillows – made in the USA – are designed to be breathable, dust mite resistant, and hypoallergenic. They’re machine washable and come with a five-year warranty against manufacturer defects.

The memory foam construction features an adjustable fill, so you can customize your pillow to your own desired level of firmness.

Let’s take a deep look at the different features of Coop Home Goods pillows so you can decide for yourself if they’re the right choice for you.

Firmness

Some pillow companies – like Night Labs – offer only one premium pillow. Others – such as Nest Bedding – offer a range of pillows for different sleepers. Coop Home Goods is one of the latter.

The Original Pillow by Coop Home Goods is rated as being medium-firm. We recommend this pillow for side sleepers, since they need the extra neck support to ensure that their spine stays aligned properly. It’s also good for back sleepers who know that they prefer pillows that provide more support.

The Eden Pillow is rated as being soft. We recommend that stomach sleepers use soft pillows, since firm pillows can cause your spine to go out of alignment. The Eden is also a great pillow for back sleepers who know that they prefer the feel of a soft pillow.

One cool thing about Coop pillows is that you can adjust the fill. This means that you can customize the loft of your pillow, which helps you maintain proper spinal alignment. Adding or removing fill also effects the density, or how much of a “sinking in” feeling you get. If you’re picky about your pillows, this is a great choice because you can always fine-tune your sleeping experience to meet your own unique needs.

Durability and Construction

Coop Home Goods pillows are made out of the following materials:

  • Polyester liner
  • Viscoelastic polyurethane and polyester fill
  • Bamboo-derived viscose rayon and polyester case

The fill is a unique blend of memory foam and microfiber does an excellent job of making the pillow comfortable and supportive. The memory foam is certified by CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD, which ensures that there are low chemical emissions for safety.

The inner liner is made out of a lightweight, stretchy fabric that lets you adjust the shape of the pillow depending on your sleeping position. The fabric is extremely breathable, which plays a role in temperature regulation and keeping you cool while you sleep.

Made out of the company’s signature Lulltra fabric – derived from bamboo – is the case. This cover is removable, machine-washable, and is soft and breathable.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse or improper use. They will not cover the product if you don’t follow the correct washing instructions.

The warranty only covers pillows that you purchase directly from Coop Home Goods or one of its authorized sellers. To make a warranty claim, call 888.316.1886 or email [email protected] and provide them with your order number.

Trial period

Starting from the date that your pillow is delivered, the company offers a 100-night sleep trial. This is standard for the industry.

If you’re not satisfied with your Coop Home Goods pillow for any reason within the first 100 nights, contact the company for a full refund. The company will send you a prepaid shipping label for a free return, provided that you are located within the 48 contiguous states.

Once the company receives your return, you’ll receive a full refund within 2 business days in the form of payment that you made your purchase with.

Care and maintenance

The company offers a few guidelines for taking care of your pillow:

  • Daily – Fluff up your pillow by hand to help maintain its shape.
  • Weekly – Wash your pillowcase on a weekly or biweekly basis to keep it clean.
  • Monthly – Freshen up your pillow and increase its loft by tumble drying on low heat for 15-30 minutes.
  • Annually – The company recommends completely washing your pillow once per year.

To clean the removable cover:

  • Wash in cold water, delicate cycle. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
  • Tumble dry low. Make sure the cover is completely dry before use.

To clean the inner pillow:

  • Secure the zipper closed with a safety pin to ensure that it does not open/spill memory foam while the machine is running. Wash in cold water on the delicate cycle. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
  • Dry one pillow at a time. Tumble dry low until the inner pillow is completely dry before use. This may take several cycles and differs depending on your washer and dryer.

It’s not recommended that you wash your pillow more than once per year, as this can cause it to degrade prematurely.
