As one of the biggest companies in the “bed-in-a-box” industry, Amerisleep is primarily known for their memory foam and hybrid mattresses. Since the company has been so successful at creating award-winning mattresses, most consumers don’t know that Amerisleep also makes a line of bedding products.
The company sells sheets, mattress protectors, duvets, duvet covers, and – the subject of this review – mattress toppers.
Lift by Amerisleep (coupon code: SLEEPLINE) is a mattress topper that is available in two versions: support and comfort. Both are three inches thick and feature MicroGrip technology to keep the topper attached to your mattress. The comfort version will make your mattress softer and the support version will make it feel more firm.
In this review we’ll first take a look at whether Lift is the best mattress topper for you. Then we’ll do a deep dive on the different features of this mattress topper so you can have all the info you need to make your buying decision.
Is Lift by Amerisleep right for you?
Memory foam mattress toppers – like Lift – are great if you 90% love your mattress, but wish that it had a little bit more support or was slightly softer.
One thing that we love about Lift is that it includes a breatheable cover that you can zip on to your mattress topper. This is great if you’re a hot sleeper. As someone who regularly overheats when I sleep I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I didn’t wake up covered in sweat for the first time in ages after using this topper.
Lift is a 3-inch thick mattress topper. It’s important to keep in mind that this will affect the loft of your bed, making it seem much taller. This is great if you like the look and feel of thicker mattresses, but if you prefer a lower bed then that could be a dealbreaker.
You should buy an Amerisleep Lift mattress topper if you:
- Want to make your mattress softer or more supportive
- Are a hot sleeper
- Want to add an extra 3 inches to the height of your mattress
- Like memory foam
- Two options: comfort (soft) and support (firm)
- Pressure-relieving HIVE technology and Bio-Pur foam construction
- Uses MicroGrip technology to stay attached to your mattress
- Free shipping
- 5-year warranty
The main difference between the two is the type of material they use in constructing each version. The Comfort version uses Bio-Pur material to provide extra cushion that bounces back fast. I really like this version of Lift because I’m a huge fan of soft mattresses but hate feeling “stuck”. The bouncy feel of Comfort Lift is great for people – like me – who roll around frequently throughout the night.
Support Lift uses Affinity material to provide a firmer feel for this version of Amerisleep’s mattress topper. This version is great if you have chronic pain or if you just simply love the feel of firm mattresses.
Does it keep you cool?
As a lifelong hot sleeper, I’m happy to report that Lift mattress toppers sleep incredibly cool. I attribute this to the company’s decision to use an ultra-breathable cover that you can zip on to your mattress topper.
Memory foam isn’t typically known for keeping you cool. In fact, it’s the opposite. Memory foam mattresses are notorious for being really hot to sleep on and are usually a terrible decision for hot sleeper (who should choose an innerspring or latex mattress instead).
This mattress topper is a major exception. Does it sleep as cool as something made out of a different material? Probably not. But if you love the feel of memory foam this is as much of a cooling effect as you’re going to get.
We think that this mattress topper is generally a great choice for hot sleepers who like memory foam.
