I’m someone who is *very* picky about my bedding. I can’t stand the feeling of wrinkly, messed up-looking sheets and duvet covers. Look, I get it: that wrinkled-up linen look is trendy and popular. But it’s going to be a hard pass for me. I crave order and predictability in my life; and nothing says orderly and predictable like a perfectly made, wrinkle-free bed.
Amerisleep has entered the chat.
The Amerisleep Recover+ Comforter is a duvet insert that is compatible with their Percale Duvet Cover Set. These products are sold separately so you can mix and match them with products from competing brands (i.e. you can use an Amerisleep duvet insert with another brand’s duvet cover and vice-versa).
Let’s start by determining whether you’re the type of person this product is designed for or if you should look elsewhere for your bedding needs.
Should you buy a duvet insert and cover from Amerisleep?
The Amerisleep Recover+ Comforter is made with Celliant technology that is designed to wick away moisture and reduce humidity. If you sweat a lot while you sleep, then this is a great duvet insert for you.
The company also claims that the Celliant technology aids your recovery by converting your body heat into infrared energy to improve circulation. Athletes and people who love to work out have been buying Celliant bedding for that exact reason, believing that it helps to give them a competitive edge.
The Percale Duvet Cover set is made out of 300-thread count cotton. The company added a single-pick insertion weave to reduce wrinkles, making it ideal for you if you like a clean, structured look. If you’ve tried linen sheets and didn’t like the wrinkles, you’ll be extremely happy with an Amerisleep duvet cover.
You should buy an Amerisleep duvet if you:
- Are a hot sleeper
- Want a wrinkle-free duvet cover
- Want to improve your circulation and recovery

Materials and construction
There are two products that you’ll need to buy to complete you Amerisleep duvet: the Recover+ Comforter (duvet insert) and the Percale Duvet Cover Set.
The Recover+ duvet insert is made out of an outer fabric consisting of 46% Celliant and 54% cotton. The fiber fill is made out of 42% Lyocell, 29% Celliant, and 29% polyester. This is a big, thick, fluffy duvet insert that made my bed feel like I was being swaddled by a marshmallow. This duvet did a great job of upping the coziness factor and gave my bedroom a luxurious feel that it was missing previously.
The duvet cover is made out of 100% long-staple percale cotton. The 300-thread count single-pick insertion is Amerisleep’s secret weapon: this duvet cover does not wrinkle.
I know that the wrinkly linen look is in right now. I get it. It looks amazing in photos. But something about it always just feel wrong to me. Nothing completes a look like a smooth, perfectly-made bed. Part of that (for me) includes *no wrinkles*. If you’re the same, you’ll love this duvet cover.
I really liked how the duvet covered is made with flanged edges with a hidden zipper enclosure. Nothing ruins a comfortable sleeping experience like the harsh feeling of a metal zipper grinding against your face. The hidden zipper also improves the aesthetics of your sleeping environment. Sometimes it’s the tiny details that matter most.
