Eve’s Premium mattress is Eve’s luxury mattress offering, and can give the mattresses found in 5-star hotels a run for their money. It comes in both all-foam and hybrid versions.
Featuring 4 foam layers, a machine washable top cover that’s also antimicrobial and an anti-slip base, the Premium mattress combines breathable memory foam with Eve’s own patented foam they’ve named Floatfoam that provides deep pressure relief while actively cooling, making it a good option for people who suffer from chronic pain and also those who tend to sleep hot.
Who should buy the Premium mattress?
- Those who suffer from chronic body pain such as fibromyalgia
- People who suffer from back pain
- Hot sleepers
- Couples
- All sleeper types
Firmness
The Eve Premium mattress sits on the 5 – 6 on the mattress firmness scale which classifies it as a medium although some people, especially those who are lightweight, may find the mattress to have a slightly firmer feel. Firmness levels are subjective though and heavier sleepers may find the mattress to be medium soft. All in all, the Eve Premium mattress can accommodate all sleeper types, including those who sleep predominantly on their sides.
With that said, lightweight sleepers who sleep strictly on their sides may find the slight firmness uncomfortable and may want to opt for a softer mattress like the Amerisleep AS2. On the same note, those who weigh over 250 lbs (113 kg), may want to choose a firmer mattress, as this should give them more support than a softer mattress.
The hybrid version of the Eve Premium mattress also sits on a 5 – 6 on the mattress firmness scale – the only difference in firmness from the all-foam mattress is that the hybrid is slightly more responsive and noticeably springier.
Construction
Not quite just a memory foam mattress, the all-foam version of the Premium mattress features 4 different layers of foam. The top layer consists of Eve’s own Floatfoam, a soft memory foam alternative that’s like a responsive memory foam. Most memory foam mattresses tend to have that ‘stuck in the mud’ feel and while a lot of memory foam fans love memory foam because of precisely that, a fair few absolutely loathe it. The Premium mattress still gives that deep, contouring pressure relief while allowing the sleeper to move about freely and easily. Floatfoam is infused with graphite – an excellent heat conductor – that helps wick away heat from the mattress, helping you sleep cool.
The next foam layer is a memory foam layer (traditional memory foam fans rejoice) that’s also infused with graphite. Regular memory foam has a tendency to trap heat within a mattress, but Eve’s active cooling memory foam layer in their Premium mattress helps prevent heat retention issues. It does have that snug softness that cradles the body which adds to the Premium mattress’ pressure-relieving qualities, thus making it a great option for those who suffer from pain – whether chronic or temporary.
The support foam layer in the all-foam version of the Premium mattress is made up of a firmer foam that helps with spinal alignment as well as providing added support. In the hybrid version, the support foam layer is followed by a foam casing that protects the pocketed springs while adding additional reinforcement to the sides of the mattress giving the hybrid mattress excellent edge support. I have a tendency to find myself sleeping on the edge of the mattress and I never felt I was in any danger of rolling off. The all-foam version also gives good edge support, although not as great as the hybrid mattress.
On the Premium hybrid mattress, there are up to 1500 individually pocketed spring coils which helps with both support and responsiveness. Coils also allow air to move freely throughout the mattress, keeping it cool and fresh.
A typical memory foam mattress offers great motion isolation, and because of the Eve Premium’s high density base layer, it does too, making it a good choice for those who share a bed (be it with a partner or a pet). I share a bed with a (going slightly overweight) cat and not once did I feel any of his 2am in-bed dance parties. Even with its springier feel, the hybrid version also offered excellent motion isolation. The base layer also features unique contour zones throughout to help keep the pressure off the sleeper’s shoulders and hips.
All these foam layers come encased in a thick yet breathable quilted cotton top cover that’s infused with real silver threads. Silver is known to be both antimicrobial and antibacterial, helping keep your mattress free from the nasties. We do, however, advocate the use of a mattress protector which can help with the longevity of your new mattress. At the bottom of each Eve Premium mattress is an anti-slip base that helps keep your mattress in place. The top cover is removable and machine washable which we appreciate as it helps keep the mattress stay clean and fresh for longer.
Sizes
The Eve Premium mattress comes in 3 UK sizes, including a Super King which is comparable to a comparable to a California King in the US, only 6″ shorter. It measures 11″ in thickness. It is compatible with most bed frames, bases and foundations except for an adjustable bed frame.
- UK Double – 135 x 190 cm
- UK King – 150 x 200 cm
- Super King – 180 x 200 cm
Durability
Just like most bed in a box brands, Eve offers a sleep trial for all of their mattresses. You can try the Eve Premium mattress out for 100 nights and once you’ve decided to fully commit, it comes backed by a 10 year warranty.
Both the all-foam and hybrid Premium mattress currently have a combined average of 4.7 out of 5 stars based on 281 verified reviews. Eve offers free delivery to all areas of the UK as well as a removal service in selected areas.
Eve has recently pulled out of the US market and can only be found in the UK, Ireland and France for the time being. All of Eve’s mattresses are made to order in the United Kingdom.

The Original is Eve’s flagship mattress and has been their only mattress offering until very recently. It used to just come in an all-foam mattress but now have a hybrid counterpart as well.
Liked for its alternative memory foam feel that allows sleepers to move about freely without excessive sinkage, the Original mattress is made to suit all types of sleepers. It has made the rounds of some of the UK’s ‘Best Buy’ lists and is arguably Eve’s most popular mattress, easily recognized by its bright yellow side panels.
Who should buy the Original mattress?
- All sleeper types
- Couples
- Those who prefer mattresses that are not too thick
- Memory foam fans
- Those who prefer to have the option between all foam and hybrid mattresses
Firmness
Most of Eve’s mattresses have a medium to medium firm feel and the Original mattress is no exception. Similar to the Premium mattress, it also sits on a 5 – 6 on the mattress firmness scale and could even be interpreted as a 7 for more petite individuals. Nonetheless, the Original mattress could comfortably sleep most sleeping positions, including those who sleep mostly on their sides.
Couples with different sleeping positions would do well with a mattress such as the Original mattress and a lot of people who have tried it said it feels ‘just right’. Eve even likens it to Goldilocks. Upon trying it out, I would have to agree. There was none of that stuck in the mud feel and yet I felt as though the mattress surface molded gently onto the nooks and crannies of my body, retaining a slight memory foam feel while giving deep compression support.
It would be safe to assume that those who love traditional memory foam would like the Original mattress and those who hate the feel of memory foam would like it as well. The hybrid version is considerably springier and would be a good option for those who absolutely detest any sort of sinkage.
Both the all-foam and hybrid Eve Original fared well in our motion transfer test, with the hybrid offering mariginally better edge support.
Construction
There are only three layers in the all-foam Original mattress and 5 foam layers on the hybrid. The alternative memory foam top layer on the all-foam mattress is Eve’s own next generation memory foam called EveComfort – which is 30 times more responsive then regular memory foam mattresses. This foam layer simply acts as like a latex mattress, offering support, pressure relief while helping to keep the spine aligned.
Right beneath that is the middle layer made up of a responsive memory foam layer that provides added pressure relief by contouring to the shape of the body without making you feel as though you are being swallowed by the bed. If you are looking for the sunk-in, cuddled feel, you could look at other memory foam mattresses such as the Casper mattress.
The supportive base layer on the Eve Original mattress is made up of high density polyfoam that’s cut into seven unique contour zones. This layer acts as additional support while keeping the mattress stable and sturdy.
Many memory foam mattresses can have memory foam layers that can trap heat but Eve’s proprietary foam layers are engineered with an open-cell technology that allows air to circulate, keeping the mattress cool. This is great for those who are always sleeping hot. All of Eve mattress’ foam layers are CertiPur certified meaning no harmful chemicals are used in the production of their foam.
The hybrid version has a couple of additional foam layers tucked into the mattress such as thin layer of foam support that protects the spring coil system. Up to over 800 individually wrapped spring coils can be found in the Original mattress, giving the hybrid version a bouncier, more responsive feel that is great for those who need extra support such as sleepers who weigh over 250 lbs.
All the layers in both the hybrid and the all-foam Eve Original are encased in OKEO-TEK certified, breathable cotton cover that helps wick away extra moisture. The machine washable mattress cover in the all-foam comes in choices of Eve’s signature white and yellow as well as white and gray while the hybrid comes only with a white and gray cover.
While a lot of all-foam mattresses have a tendency to 0ff-gas, we didn’t experience that with the Eve Original. There could be a very tiny amount of that ‘new mattress’ smell but is easily remedied by airing out the mattress for a few hours in a well-ventilated room.
Sizes
The Eve Original all-foam mattress comes in 5 different sizes while the hybrid comes in 4UK S. There is also a tiny difference in thickness between the two with the hybrid measuring 9.8″ and the all-foam measures 9.4″. The Eve Original can be used with most bed frames and bases but Eve does not recommend the use of adjustable bed bases as this may compromise the longevity and durability of the mattress.

The Lighter Mattress

Pros and cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Budget-friendly | Can be a bit too thin |
Suitable for all sleeper types | Not for heavier individuals |
Good for teens |
Coming in both a memory foam mattress and a hybrid mattress, the Eve Lighter mattress is Eve mattress’ thinnest and lightest mattress to date. It is also Eve mattress’ most budget-friendly option.
Eve claims that their Lighter mattress is perfect for those who would like to foray into the world of foam mattresses. As with the other mattresses made by Eve Sleep, the Lighter mattress comes in both all-foam and hybrid versions.
We think it’s perfect for teens and more petite individuals as well as those who would prefer an affordable but premium quality mattress.
Who should buy the Lighter mattress?
- Petite individuals
- Teens
- Those who are on a budget
- All sleeper types
- Those who tend to sleep hot
- Those who need a spare mattress/For guest rooms
Firmness
The Lighter mattress is a medium to medium firm mattress and also sits on a 5 – 6 on the mattress firmness scale. Firmness levels can be quite subjective though and because the Lighter mattress is a thinner mattress, heavier individuals may find it to be a little bit too soft to be able to provide them the support that they need. Although we always recommend for those who weigh over 250 lbs to opt for a hybrid mattress, the Lighter Hybrid is still quite on the thinner side.
For those who are of average to light weight though, the Lighter mattress could be a good option as its firmness level can accommodate all sleeper types, including stomach sleepers. Strict side sleepers though may find the mattress to be a bit too firm.
We do not recommend thinner mattresses for couples as their combined weight – even if they are both of average build – may not provide them with the support that they would need.
Edge support is good on the Lighter mattress, although not great as the ones on both the Premium and the Original mattresses. But because of thinner size, motion isolation is quite good and there’s literally no motion transfer, even if you share your bed with a pet.
Construction
There are only 2 foam layers in the all-foam Lighter mattress and 3 layers in the hybrid. The top layer consists of Eve’s proprietary EveComfort foam, a memory foam alternative that’s more responsive, thus providing deep pressure relief without any of the sinkage.
With the hybrid version of the Lighter mattress, there are 2 thin layers of foam casings that envelop that individually pocketed springs to give them more protection while keeping the coil system intact and in place. There are up to 650 pocketed springs in the Lighter Hybrid, providing responsive support and keeping the mattress cool by allowing air to flow freely all throughout the mattress. Innersprings also help keep mold and mildew at bay.
The supportive base layer consists of a thicker, stronger base polyfoam that features specialized contour zones to give added support for the body from head to toe. Our sleep test with the Lighter mattress had us realizing we quite prefer thicker mattresses although that’s not to say that it is bad, it just means this mattress would be well-suited to those who prefer their mattresses to be on the thinner side.
The Lighter mattress comes encased in a mattress cover that helps with temperature regulation and is OKEO-TEK certified. The cover is both removable and machine washable but bear in mind that only the top cover is. The bottom cover is also an anti-slip cover that helps your mattress stay in place.
Sizes
The Lighter mattress comes in 4 different sizes and measures 7.8″ in thickness. It is compatible with most bed frames and foundations, with the exception of an adjustable bed base. If you prefer a mattress that is adjustable, you could look into getting the GhostBed mattress.

Firmness
The Cot mattress is a medium soft to medium mattress that’s tailor-made to little ones. Newborn babies need mattresses that are slightly firm but bear in mind this firmness level is not the same as the one for adults. Firmer mattresses allow their little bones to grow without compromising their sleep comfort.
Construction
Simply constructed, the Cot mattress is a hybrid mattress that features individually pocketed springs to help kids move about freely and easily while they sleep.
The mattress cover is made from an ultra-breathable fabric that’s treated with an antibacterial agent called Argentum to keep the nasties at bay. It is also removable and machine washable so you can clean your baby’s mattress at any time. Eve recommends washing their mattress covers at 60 degrees.
A laminated waterproof top layer sits underneath the mattress cover that acts as a built-in mattress protector. We all know that accidents will be unavoidable when it comes to babies and toddlers and with the waterproof protector, you can be rest assured that no moisture reaches the foam layers of your baby’s bed.
Two layers of CertiPUR certified proprietary luxury foam sits before and after the coil system acting as both the transition layer and top comfort layer. This foam is very responsive, 30 times more responsive than memory foam, giving your kids the support and pressure relief that they would need.
The Cot mattress features premium pocket springs that are engineered to adapt to every movement of your child, creating responsive support as they grow. Springs are also naturally breathable, keeping the mattress fresh for longer while helping with keep heat away.
