Temperature is the number one complaint amongst sleepers around the world. No one likes to sleep hot. Some mattresses, especially ones made from traditional memory foam, tend to trap heat, which in turn can cause hours of discomfort and interrupted sleep. Utilizing a trademarked sleep technology called SleepDegree, the Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Mattress Premier actively helps sleepers sleep 8 degrees cooler.
Who should buy the Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Premier?
- Hot sleepers
- Those who suffer from seasonal allergies
- Innerspring mattress fans
- Heavier individuals
- All sleeper types
- Couples
Firmness
The Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Premier falls on a 5-5.5 on the mattress firmness scale making it a medium feel mattress. This makes it a good choice for all types of sleepers, including those who sleep predominantly on their sides. Lightweight strict side sleepers may find the mattress to be a little firmer than medium and we suggest looking into something like Saatva Latex Hybrid.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Good Life Hybrid Premier can also accommodate those who are heavier than 250 lbs, although the medium firmness level can feel slightly softer. If this bothers you, a firm mattress topper can help provide a touch of firmness.
Couples with different sleeping positions would also do well with a mattress like the Good Life Hybrid Premier, because of its medium firm feel. We also found the mattress to offer good motion isolation, no matter whether you share your bed with a partner or a pet.
Construction
There are 5 layers to the Good Life Hybrid Premier mattress. The top two comfort layers contain slightly varying types of gel-infused foam. The top layer features 2 inches of fast response gel-infused foam that offers both responsive comfort and cooling.
The second layer of foam features a gel memory foam blend that also contains activated charcoal. Activated charcoal helps with both odor reduction and heat retention. It also helps absorb moisture. This makes it a great option for sleepers who experience night sweats. Along with activated charcoal, the second comfort layer of the Good Life Hybrid Premier also contains gel memory foam which provides once again helps keep heat away from the mattress. Gel memory foam also offers similar comfort and contouring to a traditional memory foam mattress which greatly helps with pressure relief.
The third layer features a transition layer of convoluted foam that targets individual parts of the body while helping with spinal alignment. Similar to mattresses that offer zoned support, the Good Life Hybrid Premier automatically adjusts to your body weight and sleeping position.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Premier also features a layer of individually encased coils that offers responsive support for both lightweight and heavier set individuals alike. Individually wrapped coils also help deaden cross mattress movement, making the Hybrid Premier mattress a good choice for those who share a bed with a partner or a pet. I share a bed with an alarmingly chubby cat and I have to say, not once did I feel any movement from him jumping on and off the bed.
The premium support base layer is made up of high density polyfoam that helps keep all the top layers in place while also adding to the mattress’ sturdiness and durability.
All these layers come encased in a patented mattress cover that contains both cooling infusions as well as what Dr. Oz mattresses call SilverScience – a feature they use in all their mattress covers that is both antibacterial and cooling. As we know, silver is a good conductor of heat, thus keeping away any unwanted heat from the mattress. The antibacterial properties in the cover also help with those who suffer from allergies as well as helping provide an extra layer of protection for the entire mattress by helping fight the growth of mold and mildew.
We did not experience any off-gassing with the Hybrid Premier mattress, although a few verified reviews have stated that they have. This is normal and can easily be remedied by airing the new mattress out in a well-ventilated room for a day or two. Dr. Oz mattress comes rolled and compressed and may take up to 72 hours to fully expand, although you can definitely use the mattress immediately. The textiles used in the Premier Hybrid mattress are OKEO-TEX certified.
Sizes
The Good Life Hybrid Premier comes in 5 sizes and measures 13″ in thickness. It is compatible with most bed frames and bed bases, including an adjustable bed frame. In fact, Dr. Oz offers their very own sleep systems aptly named Good Life Sleep, which gives you the option to add their own adjustable base.

Pros and cons

Cooling | Not for very heavy individuals |
Good for back and chronic pain | Can be too pricey for some |
Plush | May take a while to expand |
A traditional spring mattress is a mattress many people are familiar with. In fact, surveys have shown that most have grown up sleeping on a traditional innerspring mattress. Innersprings provide ultra-responsive support while helping keep the mattress stay cool and fresh. But sometimes springs can lack the contouring support of an all-foam mattress. The Good Life Hybrid Pro mattress can offer just that – contouring support with the responsive feel of a traditional innerspring.
Who should buy the Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Pro?
- Those who suffer from back pain and/or chronic pain
- Innerspring fans
- Those who need contouring support
- All sleeper types
- Couples with similar sleeping styles
Firmness
The Good Life Hybrid Pro mattress comes in a 4-5.5 on the mattress firmness scale and is classified as a Medium Plush mattress. Slightly softer than the average medium-feel mattress, the Hybrid Pro is especially forgiving to those who sleep strictly on their sides.
Also because of its contouring comfort layers, the Hybrid Pro can provide much needed pressure relieving benefits for those who suffer from back or chronic issues such as fibromyalgia.
Being a soft mattress though can make it feel a little too soft for those who weigh over 250 lbs. If they are strict stomach and back sleepers, they may not get enough support in the long run as a mattress becomes softer with time. We suggest something like the Layla Hybrid for exceptionally heavy individuals.
We found that the Hybrid Pro did well in terms of motion isolation when sharing the bed with a partner. Edge support was also fairly good. I tend to sleep close to the edge of the mattress and not once did I feel any danger of rolling off the bed.
Construction
Similar to the Hybrid Premier, the Hybrid Pro is also made up of 5 layers. The top two comfort layers are made up of 2 distinct types of specialized foam. The top layer features a gel memory foam blend infused with activated charcoal that helps keep moisture and odors away. The gel memory foam is also what gives the mattress its contouring, slightly cuddled in feel which helps with both pressure and pain relief. The second layer features a gel fast response foam that does away with the stuck in the mud feel that traditional memory foam mattresses are notoriously known for.
The transition layer features a breathable, open-celled foam that allows air to flow through freely. This helps keep the mattress stay dry and cool. The coil system in the Hybrid Pro features 6″ of individually encased coils that are both supportive and pressure-relieving. We did find the Hybrid Pro to be cozier than its Premier counterpart, but this is largely in part to its medium plush feel.
The base foam layer is made up of high density polyfoam that helps keep the Hybrid Pro sturdy and intact. All these layers come encased in a classy, jacquard weave mattress cover that also features Dr. Oz Sleep’s proprietary SilverScience tech which is both antibacterial and cooling.
We did notice a slight, new mattress smell upon unboxing the Hybrid Pro but it dissipated after a few hours. The mattress cover of the Hybrid Pro is non-removable and non-washable. All of the textiles used in the Hybrid Pro are OKEO-TEX certified.
Sizes
The Dr. Oz Good Life Hybrid Pro comes in 7 sizes and measures 12″ thick. It is compatible with most bases and bed frames, including Dr. Oz’s own adjustable base which boasts a massage feature. We all know massages are a game changer.

Pros and cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Good for back and stomach sleepers | Not suitable for heavier individuals |
Antibacterial | Edge support could be better |

Quite a few people prefer all-foam mattresses, especially those who dislike the bounce of spring mattresses and want a mattress without springs. All-foam beds also tend to be cheaper than hybrids or innersprings and are often a lot more contouring when it comes to pressure relief.
The Dr. Oz Good Life mattress is Dr. Oz Sleep’s only all-foam offering and it is preferred by strict back and stomach sleepers as well as those who suffer from medical issues like arthritis.
Who should buy the Dr. Oz Good Life?
- Back and stomach sleepers
- Those who prefer all-foam beds
- Those who prefer more contouring support
- Couples with similar sleeping style
Firmness
Sitting on a 6-7 on the mattress firmness scale, the Dr. Oz Good Life mattress is a medium firm mattress. This makes it a solid choice for those who sleep on their backs or stomachs. While some combination sleepers may find the Good Life mattress to be comfortable enough, strict side sleepers may find the mattress to be a little too firm, especially if they are on the heavier side. We suggest something like the DreamCloud mattress for those who sleep strictly on their sides.
Being an all-foam bed, we do not recommend the Good Life mattress for individuals who weigh well over 250 lbs. as this would not give them the support that they would need.
Foam beds are pretty good at keeping motion transfer at bay and the Good Life mattress is no exception. We found it to provide excellent motion isolation when sharing the bed with a partner. However, we also found the edge support to be a wee bit lacking so if you’re the type to sleep close to the edge of the bed, this might be something to take note of.
Construction
For an all-foam bed, the Good Life mattress features an impressive foam layers of different types of foam blends. The top comfort layer is made up of gel memory foam with activated charcoal made from sustainable bamboo. Activated charcoal helps wick away both heat and moisture. The gel memory foam is both cooling and pressure-relieving in a way most memory foam beds are but without the dreaded stuck in the mud feel. We did not feel as though we stuck or had trouble moving about the bed.
The second comfort layer adds to the bed’s responsiveness. It is made up of gel fast response foam that helps do away with the sunk-in feel typical of classic memory foam. If you are looking for a true, cuddled in memory foam feel, you might want to look into Tempur-Pedic beds.
Similar to the Hybrid Pro, the transition layer consists of a breathable, open-celled foam that helps trapped heat escape – crucial for memory foam. It also provides added support and is the layer responsible for giving the mattress its medium firm feel.
The base layer is made up of high density polyfoam that helps hold all the top layers together while providing added support.
Once again like the Hybrid Pro, the Good Life mattress features a jacquard weave mattress cover that also features SilverScience – Dr. Oz’s proprietary tech that fuses silver ions onto the mattress cover. This helps provide a cleaner, healthier sleep environment. It also helps prevent dust mites.
Like most all-foam beds, we experienced a tiny bit of off-gassing with the Good Life mattress. We suggest airing it out before use if this bothers you. The Good Life mattress comes shipped rolled and compressed and we found it too a full 72 hours to expand to its full and final size.
Sizes
The Dr. Oz Good Life mattress comes in 7 sizes and measures 10″ thick. It is compatible with most beds and bases, including a platform bed frame. Dr. Oz also offers a complete sleep system should you want it. It includes an adjustable bed base that is purported to help with snoring and can even apparently help one to stop snoring completely (we have yet to try it though).
