Did I like it?
Of course I did.
It’s soft, cushioning and supportive. You’ll fall asleep feeling like you’re being held (which, let’s face it, everybody likes). It does not retain body heat which is a godsend if you’re a particularly hot sleeper.
I also like that it’s made out of premium quality gel memory foam that’s shredded which makes it more malleable and versatile. You can use it in a lot of different ways unlike other body pillows which only allow you to use them in one way.
But is it really something special?
Do we really need a body pillow, side sleeper or not?
I think not.
Regular pillows can do the job very nicely BUT if you’ve got the money to burn and you really, really want one then the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow is a very good choice.
Construction and Build Quality Test
You would think that shredded memory foam – being a by-product (dregs, if we’re being reaaally honest) of memory foam mattresses – would feel, well, like ‘leftovers’ but that’s definitely not the case with the shredded memory foam used in the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow.
You get the same true memory foam feel as premium memory foam mattresses, the same cradled-in contouring comfort that makes you feel as though you are swaddled like a warm, gooey burrito. This also means responsiveness isn’t the greatest but let’s face it, why would you need a responsive pillow anyway especially if you’re a side sleeper?
The shredded memory foam in the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow comes encased in zippered cloth encasement made from rayon – not the most luxurious but hey, they have to cut the cost somewhere don’t they? Plus it’s just the encasement for the fill.
The pillow cover itself is made from organic cotton velvet that’s breathable which means it won’t hold any heat in. It’s also removable and machine-washable – crucial if you’re the type who gets into frequent spills and accidents.
But here’s the most important thing about the cover – it’s soft and velvety and feels ultra plush. When it comes to pillows, especially body pillows, it’s how it feels that’s most important which brings us to our next point (see directly below).
Comfort Test
When it comes to comfort, we rate the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow a 9 out of 10.
Shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow gets a high score when it comes to comfort.
I mean, I’ve been waxing poetic about how it basically feels like a warm burrito but how does it hold up when you use it for things other than as a reasonably reasonable facsimile for a sleeping companion?
You see, apparently you can use the Yana Dream pillow as a support pillow for when you’re either reading or even working in bed (which you really shouldn’t do and your back will thank you, trust me).
You can also use it to prop up your legs up for better circulation (especially if you’re pregnant) and to help ease pressure off your spine (important every time) but like, any other pillow can do that at least, can’t they?
But we like that the Yana Side Sleeper pillow offers you a wide range of choices when it comes to supportive comfortability and even for that alone it gets a high score in my book.
Temperature Regulation Test
When it comes to temperature regulation, we rate the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow an 8 out of 10.
But what about the dreaded heat retention that memory foam is notorious for, you might ask?
Well, the Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow’s memory foam fill is infused with cooling gel which helps do away with any heat retention keeping the pillow pretty cool to sleep on or sleep with.
But (yes, there’s a but), everything has its limits and because those are the only cooling features the Yana Dream pillow has, it can become a little warm with continued use.
Say for example, you slept on one spot for a few hours now and it’s begun to turn a little warm (not hot but kinda warm) – that kinda heat but easily remedied by changing spots (I mean, what else can you do really?).

The Yana Side Sleeper Dream pillow comes in only one size but it can be folded into different shapes according to your preference.
