The Nolah Evolution 15 mattress is made up of 7 layers (similar to Tempur-Pedic beds which also have a lot of layers). All these come encased in a breathable and moisture-wicking organic cotton mattress cover that’s blended with ArticTex fibers that help keep heat away.
The primary comfort layer in the Nolah Evolution 15 is made up of a breathable Euro topper that features high-thermal conductivity quilting that not only provides the plush comfort that we all love in memory foam mattresses but is pretty cooling as well.
Here’s something a little different which cannot be found in a lot of mattresses: the Nolah Evolution 15 features a border gusset that allows heat to escape from the mattress.
As we all know, memory foam can be heat-retentive but Nolah has made sure to include all these little features that boosts the Evolution 15’s cooling properties.
Right underneath the border gusset lies a layer of Nolah’s own memory foam alternative called AirFoamICE that’s infused with graphite. In case you didn’t know, graphite conducts heat really well which in turn helps the mattress stay cool.
The next foam layer is the CoreComfort support foam that helps provide both pressure relief and targeted support.
The transition layer is made up of adaptable foam that’s more responsive and adds a subtle bounce that counteracts the sinkage from all the memory foam layers above.

Firmness
Puffy gives their Lux Hybrid mattress a medium-plush feel which in our books makes it a medium-soft on the mattress firmness scale.
This makes the Lux Hybrid mattress more suitable for side sleepers and combination sleepers.
Those who sleep strictly on their backs and stomachs may not fare so well on the Puffy Lux Hybrid as the softness would cause their hips and backs to sink into the mattress, throwing their spinal alignment out of balance.
And all I can say to that is ‘ouch’.
Although it is a hybrid mattress and is technically able to provide enough support for heavier-set individuals, it just may be a little too soft for those who weigh well over average so bear that in mind.
If you fall within the heavier than average range and like softer mattresses however, then by all means.
For a softer mattress, I found the Puffy Lux Hybrid to have surprisingly good edge support thanks to the foundation support foam layer that surrounds the coil unit.
But when it comes to motion isolation though, if you share a bed with a partner that’s slightly heavier and larger than you are, you just might feel a tiny bit of movement.
Construction
Technically there are 5 layers to the Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress but the 5th layer surrounds the coil unit. All these layers come encased in stain-resistant cotton cover that can be removed and washed.
The first comfort layer is made up of Puffy’s very own Cooling Cloud foam that’s a more cooling memory foam alternative. Plush and contouring, this layer provides that classic Tempur-Pedic bed feel.
The second comfort layer is made up of yet another proprietary foam – the Plush Dual Cloud foam. This layer gives the Puffy Lux Hybrid mattress that distinctive sleeping on a cloud feel.

When it comes to mattresses, there’s soft, medium and firm as well as the medium-softs and medium firms and extra soft and extra firm.
That’s what we know. That’s what is common.
Think about it like blood pressure levels mm/Hg (which incidentally, is what Saatva uses as their form of measuring and controlling the Solaria’s firmness levels).
You get precise firmness every single time. You want it super soft, you got it. You want it rock hard, you got that too (but please don’t, your back will hate you). And you basically get everything in between.
As I’ve mentioned above, either side of the Saatva Solaire comes with remote controls on either side of the bed so you and your partner can choose whatever it is you need and prefer to suit your chosen sleeping position.
Unfortunately, the Saatva Solaire is not app-controlled.
This also means that the Saatva Solaire is suitable for all sleeper types, from strict back and stomach sleepers to side and combination sleepers. No one is left out.

As with all Saatva mattress covers, the Solaria’s cover has been treated with Guardin, a botanical antimicrobial treatment that inhibits the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria.
The cover also includes a 3″ Euro pillow top with lumbar zone quilting that helps give more support on the center third of the mattress.
The mattress cover also has a Paladin flame barrier which is made up of a polyester and rayon blend. No fiberglass in the Saatva Solaire, folks.
A layer of natural latex is the primary comfort layer in the Saatva Solaire. Providing buoyant yet pressure relieving support, latex is also proven to be hypoallergenic and naturally cooling.

The Layla Hybrid mattress is a flippable memory foam mattress that’s infused with copper which provides a healthier, more cooling sleep experience.
What I liked most about the Layla Hybrid is that it’s flippable, with two different firmness levels on either side which makes it a great option for all sleeper types.
Firmness
You get two firmness options within one mattress in the Layla Hybrid. Firm on one side and soft on the other – all you have to do is flip it.
Sitting on a 7-8 on the mattress firmness scale, the Firm side of the Layla Hybrid would be best for those who sleep strictly on their backs or stomachs since a firmer mattress would provide them both support and proper spinal alignment.
The Soft side of the Layla Hybrid sits on a 3-4 on the firmness scale making it a more suitable option for strict side sleepers or those who suffer from chronic and joint pain.

They all come encased in a super soft breathable fabric that’s moisture-wicking.
The mattress cover also features handles on either side for easier flipping. It is also removable and machine-washable.
On the soft side, the primary comfort layer is made up a thicker layer of copper-gel infused memory foam.
Soft and plush, it provides that classic contouring memory foam feel that helps with deep compression and pressure relief. As I’ve mentioned before, copper is an excellent heat conductor so the mattress won’t retain any heat whatsoever.
The transition layer is made up Max Air Flow support foam that features zoned SMT or Surface Modification Technology for targeted support especially where you need it the most. This same layer also has deep channels which provides more air flow throughout the entire mattress.
The coil unit is in the center of both the soft side and the firm side. Featuring 14 gauge pocketed center coils provide ample support for both ends of the mattress, no matter which side you decide to sleep on.
The coil unit in the Layla Hybrid also features 16 gauge edge coils which helps with edge support.
On the firmer side of the mattress, you get the same primary comfort layer and transition layer, only slightly thinner and denser than the ones on the soft side of the mattress.

All-foam mattresses can provide enough support for those of average weight whereas mattresses made up of a hybrid construction (be it coils or air chambers) provide ample support for those who are heavier than average.
