There are very few adjustable mattresses that feature a blend of latex, memory foam and air chambers making the Saatva Solaire essentially both a foam mattress and an air mattress that’s also adjustable. Confusing? Perhaps. But just know that the Saatva Solaire is a mattress that’s meant to do it all – and then some.
Made specifically for for those who are experiencing specific issues that always results in lack of restful and beneficial sleep such as chronic pain, back pain, sleep apnea, snoring, those in recovery from surgery and pregnancy, among other things. Choosing a firmness level on the Saatva Solaire is done with a touch of a button and Saatva uses the same level of measurement as that of blood pressure monitors which is mm/Hg. This gives you a precise firmness level every single time.
From the Queen mattress size and up, you can choose between two different firmness level on either side of the bed, which we think is an excellent option especially for couples who prefer different firmness levels.
We barely felt any motion transfer when we tried out the Saatva Solaire with a partner and we found edge support to be superb, making the mattress a good choice for those who like sleeping close to the edge of the bed.
Construction
There are 5 different layers to the Saatva Solaire mattress. All these layers come encased in a 100% certified organic cotton cover that’s both breathable and moisture-wicking. Side sleepers make up the bulk of the population but a lot of mattresses can feel a little too firm for strict side sleepers which can cause shoulder and back pain. The Puffy mattress does away with all of that and it is, by far, one of the softest yet supportive mattresses we’ve tried, especially for those who prefer to sleep on their sides.

We found motion transfer to be almost non-existent on the Puffy mattress when we tried it out although we found edge support to be only fair.

The top cover is made from a stain-resistant material that’s soft to the touch and is hypoallergenic. The bottom cover features a grip base that helps the mattress stay in place. The first comfort layer is made up of gel-infused memory foam that cradles the muscles and joints for maximum comfort and pressure relief.

How do I buy a mattress with a good warranty?
Federal law stipulates that you must have the opportunity to read a warranty before you buy a product. That’s why all mattress companies have a warranty page on their website that lists the terms and exclusions. Make sure you read through the mattress warranties of all the different brands you’re considering before you make your purchase so you don’t encounter any surprises when you have to make a claim.
How do mattress warranties work?
There are two different types of mattress warranties: implied warranties and written warranties.
All 50 states have passed laws that regulated implied warranties, which ensure that you have legal recourse if the mattress you buy doesn’t come with a written warranty. The main exceptions to this type of warranty are mattresses that are sold ‘as-is’ and mattresses sold by companies that specifically state in writing that they don’t offer a warranty.
Some states prohibit ‘as-is’ sales. Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Mississippi all prohibit ‘as-is’ sales.
Implied warranty of merchantability means that the product is guaranteed to do what it’s supposed to do. An implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose means that that product is suitable for a particular use.
Virtually all mattress companies offer a written warranty that offers you specific protections. You’ll need to read the warranty information that the company lists on its website for specifics; but most written mattress warranties protect you against indentations and defects in materials and workmanship for a specified length of time.
The mattress companies on this list all offer a lifetime warranty length, but other mattress brands limit their warranties to a shorter length of time. Common warranty lengths offered by reputable mattress manufacturers include 20 years (e.g. Amerisleep), 15 years (e.g. Saatva), and variable depending on model (e.g. Serta and Beautyrest).
What do mattress warranties cover?
Most mattress warranties cover the following defects:
- Sagging – Sagging or sinking that exceeds a specified depth – usually 1.5″ or 1.75″ – that hasn’t been caused by using improper foundations
- Zippers and seams – Zippers that are broken or nonfunctional, seams that come undone, and handles that don’t stay attached are generally covered
- Coils – Bent or broken coils are covered if you buy an innerspring mattress. If the coils are poking through the fabric, that is also generally covered by reputable mattress manufacturers
- Irregular lumps – If lumps are caused by a manufacturing defect in the memory foam, latex foam, or polyurethane foam; then you are generally covered.
What don’t mattress warranties cover?
Most mattress warranties won’t cover the following:
- Minor sagging – If you experience sagging that doesn’t exceed the specified threshold, then your limited warranty doesn’t apply
- Damage caused by neglect – The mattress manufacturer will not repair or replace your mattress if you misuse or improperly care for it
- Normal wear and tear – Minor damage caused by repeated use over time is not covered
- Comfort preferences – You can’t get a replacement mattress if you decide that your mattress isn’t comfortable enough. Changes in preference regarding mattress firmness, sleeping position, pressure relief, mattress thickness, and more are not covered
Conclusion
