Our experience with Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid Mattress
You’d be hard-pressed to find an organic latex hybrid mattress that’s easy on the budget but the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid (how cute is the name tho) mattress ticks all the right boxes.
Supportive, responsive, all-organic and fiberglass-free, the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress also costs way less than the usual organic latex hybrid mattresses you may find on the market.
It is also one of the best hybrid latex mattresses we’ve tried that offers great motion isolation which makes it an excellent choice for those who share a bed.
Due to its inherent bouncier nature, latex hybrid mattresses don’t absorb motion as well as all-foam mattresses but the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress does.
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress also comes in different firmness options to choose from. They can accommodate all sleeper types, although petite side sleepers beware – the medium (which they call their medium-firm) option can be a little too firm.
Firmness
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress comes in 3 different firmness options: medium-soft, medium-firm and firm.
This makes it suitable for sleeper types, from strict side sleepers and combination sleepers and back and stomach sleepers.
Bear in mind though that the way Sweet Zzz have rated their mattress firmness veers slightly from the norm – their medium is a medium-firm so if you sleep mostly on your side and you weigh less than average, you might find that particular mattress firmness to be a bit too firm.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is suitable for heavier-set individuals as the combination of foam layers and spring coils offer the extra support that they would need.
Cooling Test
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to temperature regulation.
It should come as no surprise that the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress gets a high score when it comes to cooling.
Foam that’s made from natural material such as latex does not retain heat like memory foam does which is manmade.
What’s more, the latex used in the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress features grooves and open cells which allows continuous air flow day in and day out.
Motion Transfer Test
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
You’d think that the double whammy responsive combo of latex foam and spring coils would make for a mattress that’ll make you feel every little move your partner makes BUT we were pleasantly surprised.
We did not experience any cross mattress movement when we tried the mattress out with a partner.
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is a solid choice for those who share a bed with a partner and/or a pet.
Edge Support Test
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress a 9.5 when it comes to edge support.
This is where the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress really shines in our opinion.
Reinforced, thicker edge coils surround the perimeter of the entire mattress giving it extra edge support which is ideal, especially if you’re someone who likes to sleep close to the edge of the bed.
You won’t be in any danger of falling or rolling off.
Pressure Relief/Comfort Test
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.
Don’t get us wrong.
Although the score we’ve given the Sweet Zzz isn’t quite an 8 or a 9, we still got very good pressure relief and comfort on and from the mattress.
We only scored it such because compared to memory foam mattresses, it does not offer deep compression or contouring.
What the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress offers is responsiveness and zoned support which is better for those who suffer from back pain and for those who need help with proper spinal alignment.
Construction
There are 5 layers to the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress.
All these layers come encased in a certified organic cotton quilted cover that is soft, breathable and cool to the touch.
Right beneath that lies a layer of organic New Zealand Calmera wool which has two main benefits – it’s a natural fire retardant and helps with temperature regulation.
The top comfort layer which is also the transition is made up of GOLS certified organic Dunlop latex. It offers enhanced support as well as pressure relief.
Pure, organic latex is naturally cooling and hypoallergenic making the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress a good choice for those who suffer from chronic allergies.
A layer of micro-coils lie underneath the comfort/transition layer offering targeted pressure relief and also helps with motion isolation.
The coil unit of the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is made up of American tempered steel and comes individually wrapped. This layer helps provide zoned support and extra motion isolation.
The base layer is made up of an organic cotton and wool blend which helps hold all the top layers together as well as provide a sturdy base for the entire mattress.
Although we did not experience any off-gassing (which is usually what happens with man-made mattresses) with the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress, there is a distinct earthy, wooly scent that emanates from the mattress.
This is natural and will dissipate within a few days of use.
Durability
Organic latex mattresses are pretty well-known for their durability and the same goes for the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress.
After a good number of nights sleeping on the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress, we can safely say that the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress can and will hold up well for the years to come.

Depending on the mattress firmness, it also comes in 3 different mattress thicknesses, 9”, 10” and 13”. The softer the mattress, the thicker it goes.
