The Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress is the only mattress that Eco Terra currently offers.
Made from 100% GOLS certified organic latex, the Eco Terra Latex mattress is also a hybrid mattress that can support sleepers of varying body weight, including those that are heavier-set.
Just like with all of the other mattresses we review here on Sleepline, we ran the Eco Terra mattress through a series of tests to see how it holds up against other premium latex mattresses as well as the more popular hybrid mattresses on the market.
The thing we liked most of all with the Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress is its edge support. Even if you’re sleeping right on the edge of the bed, the Eco Terra mattress’ edges are made in a way that they prevent you from rolling off which is great news for side edge sleepers.
The Eco Terra mattress also did well when it comes to temperature regulation and overall comfort plus the fact that it’s a hybrid and comes in two firmness options makes it a bed that’s suitable for all types of sleepers and body types.
However, when it comes to motion isolation, the Eco Terra mattress did not exactly wow us when it comes to deadening any cross-mattress movement, especially if you choose the medium-feel Eco Terra mattress.
Firmness test
There are two firmness options with the Eco Terra Latex mattress: medium and medium-firm.
The medium option sits on a 4 on the mattress firmness scale, making it a more of a medium-soft rather than a true medium.
This makes it most suitable for strict side sleepers and combination sleepers. Back and stomach sleepers of average weight can use opt for the medium Eco Terra mattress but will be too soft for those who are a bit more heavier-set and throw their spinal alignment out of whack.
The medium-firm option of the Eco Terra mattress is feels more like a true medium than a medium-firm mattress, making it around a 5 on the scale.
This makes it suitable for all sleeper types including those that sleep strictly on their backs and stomachs. Being a hybrid, the medium-firm Eco Terra Latex mattress can accommodate heavier individuals.
Cooling test
When it comes to cooling, we rate the Eco Terra mattress a 4 out of 5.
Organic latex is known to be naturally cooling, much more so than memory foam.
The Eco Terra Latex mattress also features perforations that allow maximum airflow all throughout the mattress. That plus the pocketed coil unit is enough to keep the mattress cool and airy.
But the Eco Terra Latex mattress also features a breathable organic cotton cover as well as organic wool as its fire barrier.
Organic wool is temperature regulating, which means it can help you keep cool when it’s hot and help you keep warm when it’s cold.
The Eco Terra Latex mattress did an amazing job of keeping us cool when we tried it out so if you’re someone who tends to sleep extremely hot, this might just be the mattress for you.
Comfort test
We rate the Eco Terra mattress a 4/5 when it comes to comfort.
Latex mattresses are naturally springier than mattresses made from memory foam or any other synthetic foams.
With the Eco Terra mattress, regardless of the firmness levels, the latex components plus its coil unit provide a more responsive feel that still provides enough pressure relief making the Eco Terra Hybrid a pretty comfortable mattress to sleep on.
If you are looking for a bed that’s more contouring though, you may have to look elsewhere.
Motion Transfer test
We rate the Eco Terra mattress a 3 out of 5 when it comes to motion transfer.
I’ll give it to you straight – those who share a bed with a partner might not be too happy with the Eco Terra mattress.
Because all-natural latex is already pretty springy, the addition of a coil unit makes the Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress a bouncier bed than usual which can be a problem for really light sleepers who share a bed with either a heavier partner or one who’s a restless sleeper.
We did experience more than a little bit of motion transfer when we tried the mattress out with a partner hence why the Eco Terra mattress only gets a 3 out of 5 stars when it comes to motion isolation.
Edge Support test
In terms of edge support, we give the Eco Terra mattress a 5 out of 5.
This is where the Eco Terra mattress really shines compared to other organic mattresses.
A lot of mattresses, whether latex or not, only have outstanding edge support when they’re made from premium materials and feature an extra set of reinforced coils in the case of hybrid mattresses.
This also means you pay premium prices.
At first glance, you wouldn’t think the Eco Terra mattress’ edges would be able to provide the edge support that it gives but once you actually try it out for yourself then you’ll see.
Whether you’re sitting or lying on (or close) to the edge of the bed, you’ll feel supported enough that you would feel no danger of falling or rolling off the bed at any time (well, unless you’re the type of edge sleeper who moves around a lot when you sleep).
Pressure Relief test
This section ties in with our comfort test.
Although not as pressure relieving and cradling as true memory foam, natural latex mattresses like the Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress still offer optimum pressure relief where you need it, when you need it.
The Eco Terra mattress in particular is slightly softer than most organic latex mattresses on the market which makes it an excellent choice for those who suffer from chronic pain and/or joint pain like arthritis.
Its innate responsiveness also offers extra support for those who are heavier-set.
Construction
There are 3 layers to Eco Terra mattress all made from organic materials.
These layers come encased in a GOTS certified organic cotton cover that’s breathable and moisture-wicking.
Right underneath the cotton mattress cover lies layer of GOTS certified organic wool that acts as the mattress’ fire barrier – there’s no fiberglass or chemical flame retardants here.
The latex comfort layer of the Eco Terra mattress is made up of GOLS certified 100% natural latex which is naturally cooling, responsive and hypoallergenic.
The latex used in the Eco Terra mattress is single origin latex and is sustainably sourced.
The coil system is made up of upcycled steel coils that are individually wrapped. These fabric encased coils help with lessening motion transfer.
The coil unit of the Eco Terra mattress also acts as its base layer sort of like a pseudo box spring, providing extra support as well as helping with proper spinal alignment.
The Eco Terra mattress boasts quite a few organic certifications such as GOTS, GOLS and eco-INSTITUT.
You may experience whiffs of a slightly earthy scent coming off of the Eco Terra mattress for a couple of weeks. This is natural (quite literally) due to the natural latex as well as the organic wool used in the mattress.
Eco Terra does not use any chemical adhesives to bind their Hybrid Latex mattress together.

The Eco Terra mattress is well-built and made with natural materials that can withstand the test of time which makes it a mattress that can last well beyond its lifespan (with proper care and mattress rotation, of course).

Eco Terra utilizes a third party carrier for mattress pickups and a fixed $99 mattress removal fee will be deducted from your full refund. Those who live in areas outside the contiguous United States may be subject to extra fees for shipping and handling.
Once the returned mattress has been confirmed received by Eco Terra, a full refund will then be credited into the original mode of payment you used when you purchased the mattress.

Very rarely a person may be severely allergic to latex products which (of course) includes latex mattresses. If this is you then you would be better off avoiding latex mattresses altogether.
Latex mattresses do not get more firm over time. Just like other foam-based mattresses, latex mattresses actually get softer over time.

The biggest difference between the Nolah Original Hybrid mattress and the Eco Terra Hybrid Latex mattress is the stark absence of latex in the Nolah mattress. Let’s just get that out of the way.
