Our experience with Amore Hybrid Latex
Not a lot of mattress brands offer 2 firmness options within one mattress. Among the many online mattress brands, there’s probably only 3 brands that do and Amore Beds is one of them. But what’s the benefit of flippable mattress, you might ask?
Well, if you share your bed with a partner, having 2 firmness options within one bed means you can both have the firmness level that each of you want. Another benefit is that flipping your mattress often can help extend the longevity of your mattress.
But what’s so special about the Amore Hybrid Latex mattress? Let’s find out.

Firmness
The Amore Latex Hybrid mattress comes in 2 firmness levels – Luxury Medium and Luxury Firm. On the mattress firmness scale, the Luxury Medium sits on a 4-5.5 while the Luxury Firm is around a 7-8.
This means the Luxury Medium would be suitable for all sleeper types including strict side sleepers whereas the Luxury Firm would be more suitable for back sleepers and stomach sleepers.
But here’s the thing about Amore mattresses – you have the option to choose 2 separate firmness levels for a single mattress. This means you can have your Latex Hybrid mattress be firm on one side and medium on the other. But what if you want just one firmness level all throughout? Amore Beds lets you choose that too. This makes the Amore Latex Hybrid mattress a great choice for couples with different sleeping and firmness preferences.
When it comes to motion isolation, we found that the Amore Latex Hybrid had very minimal motion transfer when we tried the mattress out with an average sized partner but if you share a bed with someone a little heavier than you are, you might feel a little bit of movement.
The only thing we didn’t really like about the Amore Latex Hybrid is that its edge support isn’t all that sturdy.
When we sat on the edge of the Amore Latex Hybrid, we found ourselves sinking in a little too much for comfort but laying close to the edge didn’t make us feel as though we would be in danger of rolling off. If you prefer something with a little bit more edge support whether sitting or laying down, you might want to look at something like the Layla Hybrid mattress.
Construction
There are 8 layers to the Amore Latex Hybrid. The mattress cover is made up of GOTS-certified organic cotton that’s soft to the touch, breathable and hypoallergenic. We also found it to be moisture-wicking, which is excellent for those who tend to experience night sweats.
(Tip: if you experience excessive night sweats, it’s always best to invest in a thick mattress protector to extend the lifespan of your mattress).
You also have the option to choose between the natural organic cotton cover or a cover that’s infused with either copper or CBD. Amores’ copper ion-infused cover offers the added benefit of being anti-microbial and active cooling while the CBD-infused fabric cover may help with stress and joint pain. You have the option to choose either for an extra fee when you check out.
Right beneath the mattress cover lies a layer of organic wool that acts as a fire barrier. Each and every Amore Beds mattress has this wool fire barrier in lieu of the more dangerous fiberglass fire retardants that a lot of other mattresses have. Amore Beds mattresses are fiberglass-free. Wool is also temperature neutral so this layer, aside from being a fire barrier, also helps with temperature regulation.
Below the fire barrier lies the comfort layer that is made up of GOLS-certified Organic Dunlop natural latex. Latex is both naturally cooling and hypoallergenic, making the Amore Latex Hybrid a good choice for both hot sleepers and allergy sufferers. This mattress doesn’t contain memory foam. When it comes to comfort and pressure relief, natural latex offers the same pressure-relieving comfort as memory foam but without any the sinkage that’s associated with traditional memory foam mattresses.
The transition layer between the comfort layer and the coil system of the Amore Latex Hybrid is made up of hyper-contouring open-cell foam that, you guessed it, helps with contouring of the body to help relieve pressure off the body’s joints and main pressure points.
The coil unit in the Amore Latex Hybrid features 8-inch individually wrapped coils that offer individualized support from head to toe. Wrapped coils also help with motion isolation while allowing air to flow freely throughout the mattresss, keeping your Amore bed fresh and dry all throughout the night. The Amore mattress’ coil unit also features dual-density perimeter coils for additional support.
Since the Amore Latex Luxury Hybrid mattress is flippable, the same layers lie on either side of the coil system.
We did not experience any instances of off-gassing with the Amore Latex Hybrid mattress which typically only happens with an all-foam mattress. All of the latex foam used in the Amore Latex Hybrid is eco-Institut and OKEO-TEK certified.

Our experience with Amore Natural mattress
UL Greenguard Gold is one of the highest certifications any mattress can get and not a lot of certified organic mattresses have it. A Greenguard Gold certification ensures that the product – in this case, the Amore Natural mattress – is free from VOCs, carbon emissions, formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals that may harm either you or the environment.
The Amore Natural mattress contains GOLS certified natural latex, pure New Zealand wool, organic cotton and recycled steel coils, making it an ideal and safe mattress for the entire family.

Firmness
The Amore Natural hybrid mattress also comes in two different firmness options like all their other mattresses but the softer option only comes if you choose the pillow top option which is a little bit more expensive.
For those who prefer a firmer mattress, the regular Amore Natural design comes with a Gentle Firm firmness option that feels like a 6-7.5 on the mattress firmness scale. This firmness is best for stomach and back sleepers as well as average-sized combination sleepers.
Those who sleep strictly on their sides would do better by choosing the pillow top option which, when we tried it, has more of a luxurious hotel bed-like feel. On the firmness scale, we rate it around a 3-4, which is perfect for strict side sleepers, even those who weigh less than average. However, those who weigh over 250 lbs. may not get the support that they need with the soft option so it’s best if they go with the firmer option of the Amore Natural hybrid mattress.
We didn’t feel any motion transfer when we tried out the firmer option of the Amore Natural hybrid but we did feel a little bit of movement with the softer, pillow top option. This should be something to consider if you share your bed with a partner.
We found edge support to be fair. If you’re on the heavier side, you might find yourself sinking in a little bit when you sit on the edge of the bed.
Construction
There are 5 internal layers to the Amore Natural mattress. All these layers come encased in a 100% certified pure organic cotton cover that’s breathable and moisture-wicking. Both the pillow top option and the original option feature handwoven tufts that keeps the top cushion in place without the use of any solvents or glues that can be toxic to both you and the environment. They’re not only safe and functional but they look pretty as well.
Right underneath the mattress cover lies a thick layer of 100% organic New Zealand wool that acts as a fire barrier, eliminating the use of any type of fiberglass-based flame retardants. The Amore Natural Hybrid mattress passes all CPSC and federal flammability standards. Wool is also naturally temperature regulating and using wool in bedding and mattresses helps sleepers sleep cool when it’s hot and sleep warm when it’s cold.
The comfort layer of the Amore Natural mattress is made up of GOLS certified organic latex. This layer helps with both pressure relief and proper spinal alignment. Natural latex is pretty responsive, more so than traditional memory foam and if you’re the type of sleeper that loathes the feeling of being swallowed up by the bed, then the Amore Natural mattress would be the perfect option for you.
As we’ve also mentioned above, latex is hypoallergenic and naturally cooling, making the Amore Beds Natural mattress a good choice for both hot sleepers and those who suffer from allergies.
The 2-sided Natural mattress features a coil system that is made up of 8-inch reinforced support coils that are individually wrapped. Each coil is individually tuned for proper spinal alignment and proper support. Pocketed coils also help with motion isolation, which is perfect for those who share a bed with a partner.
Since the Amore Natural is a 2-sided flippable mattress, exact same layers lay on either side of the coil unit so you get the same type of comfort, support and protection no matter what side you sleep on.
We did not experience any instances of off-gassing with the Amore Natural mattress although some people might be a little put off by the slightly earthy scent that natural latex has. Don’t worry though – the scent goes away within a few days. All of the foam used in the Natural mattress is CertiPUR-US certified.

From clothing to arm bands and now, bedding, copper-infused fabric has long been lauded for its antibacterial, thermo-regulating and skin-enhancing properties. The Amore Hybrid Copper mattress features not only a copper-infused cover but a copper-infused foam blend as well.
Unlike graphite-infused memory foam (which only helps with heat retention), mattresses infused with copper not only help with heat but with microbes and allergies as well.

You can get two firmness options with the Amore Beds Hybrid mattress with copper: a Medium and a Luxury Firm. The Medium option sits on a 4-5.5 on the mattress firmness scale and the Luxury Firm sits on a 6-8. Strict side sleepers and combination sleepers would do well with choosing the Medium option whereas those who sleep strictly on the backs or stomachs are better off choosing the Luxury Firm.
Those who weigh over 250 lbs. would also do best by choosing the Luxury Firm option as this gives them better support and proper spinal alignment.
We experience very minimal motion transfer with the Luxury Firm option but the Medium option had a little bit of bounce when we tried it out with a partner. We found edge support to be very good with both options though.

There are 7 layers to the 2-sided Hybrid Copper mattress. All these layers come encased in a breathable bamboo rayon cover that’s infused with copper ions. The copper-ion infused cover is thermo-regulating and antimicrobial, making the Hybrid Copper mattress an excellent choice for those who suffer from allergies or those with kids.
As with all other Amore Beds mattress, the flame barrier used in the Hybrid Copper mattress is made from an organic wool blend that contains no toxic chemicals or fiberglass.
Right beneath the fire barrier lies the comfort layer made up of a copper-infused foam blend that helps eliminate pressure point fatigue while helping with both thermal regulation and elimininating any odor causing bacteria that can seep into the mattress from daily use.
A hyper-contouring transition foam sits between the comfort layer and the coil unit, offering additional support.
The coil unit is made up of 8-inch reinforced and recycled pocketed coils that offer the main source of zoned support. The mattress also features edge to edge technology that ensures even support no matter what side of the mattress you sleep on. Pocketed coils, as opposed to bare spring coils found in innerspring mattresses, help eliminate motion transfer, making the Amore Hybrid Copper mattress a solid choice for couples or for those who practice co-sleeping with their family.
Because the Hybrid Copper mattress is a 2-sided, flippable mattress, the same layers of foam lie on the other side of the coil unit, providing the same comfort and support on either side of the mattress. Amore recommends (and we do too) flipping your mattress every 3-6 months to extend the longevity of your Amore Beds mattress.
