The Sweet Night Prime mattress is gel memory foam mattress that offers superior pressure relief with its classic memory foam feel.
We liked that it is a flippable mattress and the mattress surface on each side has 2 different firmness levels ranging from soft to medium-firm making it suitable for all sleeping positions.

Firmness test
The Sweet Night Prime mattress comes in not two, not three but FOUR firmness levels and yes, all in one mattress. On one side it goes from soft to medium-soft and when you flip it, the other side goes from medium to medium-firm.
This makes it suitable for every sleeping position there is from back and stomach sleepers to strict side sleepers. This also makes it an excellent choice for couples with different preferred sleeping positions.
Because it is an all-foam mattress though, the Sweet Night Prime mattress may not be suitable for those who are heavier-set and they may find themselves sinking in further into the mattress.
They also wouldn’t be able to get the extra support and responsiveness that they would need that only hybrid mattresses can give. If you weigh well over 300 lbs. you might want to check out the Layla Hybrid mattress.
One thing we didn’t like about the Sweet Night Prime mattress is its poor edge support. If you’re the type of sleeper who likes sleeping close to the edge of the bed, you might want to opt for a memory foam mattress that has excellent edge support like Saatva mattresses.
Construction
There are 4 layers to the Sweet Night Prime mattress. They all come encased in a mattress cover that’s made from breathable OEKO-TEX certified cotton. The cover features a modern checkered design and is also anti-pilling.
The primary comfort layer on the soft side is made up of cooling gel-infused memory foam that cradles and contours all the body’s curves. This memory foam comfort layer is also responsible for offering maximum pressure point relief.
Although the Prime mattress has that true memory foam feel, we didn’t experience any of that stuck in the mud sensation that’s common with a lot of other memory foam beds.
Right underneath that lies a transition layer that’s made up of airflow high density foam that not only offers support but also helps draw heat away from the mattress.
On the firmer side, the comfort layer is made up of firmer memory foam that still offers good pressure relief no matter the body weight. Combination sleepers might find this mattress side to be more supportive.
The middle layer that supports both sides of the Prime mattress is made up of high density support foam that helps provide proper spinal alignment while also giving support.
All the foam layers used in the Sweet Night Prime all-foam bed are CertiPUR-US certified. Sweet Night uses a fiberglass-free fire retardant in all of their new mattresses.
We did, however, experience a tiny amount of off-gassing when we first unboxed the mattress but this dissipated within 72 hours.
Cooling test
Although memory foam and all-foam mattresses can be pretty notorious when it comes to heat retention, the Sweet Night Prime mattress features a cooling-gel infused memory foam top layer and an airflow support foam layer that’s a bit more open-celled to allow air to flow throughout the mattress.
The Sweet Night Prime might not be as cooling as active cooling mattresses or hybrids but we did not feel any discomfort caused by heat when we slept on the mattress.
Motion transfer test
Being an all-foam mattress makes the Sweet Night Prime mattress very good at isolating motion. We barely felt any motion transfer when we tried the Prime mattress out with a partner.
Durability
The 4-layer foam construction of the Sweet Night Prime mattress is made up of a combination of sturdy foam layers that we have found to be able to withstand wear and use by average weight individuals.
As with most all-foam mattresses though, the Sweet Night Prime mattress would wear down quicker if used by those who weigh well over 230 lbs. (you may already know this but heavier-set individuals would get more support with hybrid and innerspring mattresses).
