If you’re looking for a sleep experience that’s akin to sleeping in a 5-star hotel bed but you’re a little strapped for cash at the moment to throw thousands of dollars away on a hotel bed (and yes, it can be bought), the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper just might be the ticket.
From the same makers of the TikTok-famous Moon Pod bean bag chair, the Cloud Cover mattress topper features the same pressure-relieving memory foam as well as microfiber particles that give the mattress topper its plush, hotel bed-like feel.
Firmness Test
Mattress topper firmness is pretty subjective, even more so than mattresses because you’d need to take your current mattress’ firmness into consideration.
The Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper will turn your mattress softer and if you already have a soft mattress, it will make it even softer. Suffice it to say, if you have a firmer bed, the Moon Pod mattress topper will turn it softer but not by much.
On the mattress firmness scale, the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper sits on a 2.5 making it an extremely soft mattress topper.
While we always say that if you’re a strict back and stomach sleeper, you should opt for a firmer mattress, you can still use the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper as it can still provide a lot of pressure relief especially if you pair it with a much firmer bed.
Those who suffer from chronic pain and hip pain will also benefit from a soft mattress topper such as the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper.
Cooling Test
We rate the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Although we first thought the mattress topper cover was made out of PCM or phase change material, it turns out that it is just made with a cotton cover that’s breathable and cool to the touch.
Though not as active cooling as PCM, the mattress topper cover of the Moon Pod Cloud Cover still did a pretty good job of allowing heat to escape.
Comfort Test
This is where the Moon Pods Cloud Cover mattress topper really shines.
We rate it a 10 out of 10 for comfort and pressure relief.
Sure, any mattress topper worth its salt can offer you that plush, soft as a cloud feel that high-end hotel mattresses just seem to have down pat but the Moon Pod Cloud cover mattress topper just has the extra somethin’ somethin’.
Just like the Moon Pod Bean Bag, the Cloud Cover mattress topper features the same zero-gravity tech (read: engineered floating sensation) allows you to sleep practically weightless which in turn keeps all the pressure off your main pressure points which means you get an absolutely pain-free and super comfortable sleeping experience.
If you’re someone who suffers from chronic pain and/or shoulder pain and you can’t afford a Tempur-Pedic mattress just yet, something like the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper could be a good alternative.
Support Test
We rate the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper an 8 out of 10 for support.
You would think something this soft wouldn’t be able to offer much in terms of support – believe me, we were kinda surprised too – but it actually does. Just don’t expect it to offer the same support as say, a mattress topper with micro-coils.
Bear in mind though, the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper (or any other mattress topper for that matter) won’t really be able to offer the same support as an actual mattress so don’t expect any zoned support just to manage your expectations.
It can, however, help with scoliosis if you suffer from it.
Construction
The Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper’s construction is pretty simple – just filling encased in a mattress cover.
But the Moon Pod Cloud Cover’s filling is made up of tiny CertiPUR-US certified memory foam clusters surrounded by thousands of microfibres that offer a unique down-like feel.
Think of the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper as a memory foam/down alternative mattress topper that combines the best benefits of both and none of the downsides (like heat retention).
At first we thought that the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper’s cover is made with phase change material because it sure felt like one but it isn’t – it’s actually just 100% cotton that’s breathable and cool to the touch.
There are wide elastic bands on the bottom of the mattress topper that helps the topper stay in place but this is where the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper actually disappoints us.
If your mattress in on the thicker side, expect to have hard time getting the bands to stay in place but thankfully the Cloud Cover mattress topper also features anti-skid bottoms which, in our honest opinion, are doing all the hard work.
Just like with every mattress topper, remember to always use a fitted sheet over it. Doing so also helps the mattress topper stay in place.
The Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper is non-washable.
Should you experience any spills or accidents, spot clean immediately but make sure to use something gentle.
Durability
The Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper is made with premium, high quality materials that’s meant to last with proper care and maintenance as well as proper use.
The Moon Pod Cloud Cover should last you a good several years if you take good care of it (as you should with all your bedding products, beds and bed frames.
That means no eating and drinking in bed, no jumping, no flammable things, no parties in bed – you get the gist.)

We have to be honest, for a mattress topper, the Moon Pod Cloud Cover mattress topper is not cheap.
Hence why we rate it a 7.5 out of 10 for value.
A lot of other mattress toppers out there can be had for less (ones with better elastic bands, are you listening Moon Pod) but not a lot can offer a zero-gravity sleep experience.

Trial Period

Return Policy
If within 14 days of receiving your Moon Pod Cloud Cover, you find that you’re not really into it, you can either return it or have it exchanged for something else.
To initiate a return, you need to fill out a form on Moon Pod’s official website.
Once it’s submitted, Moon pod’s customer service team will then reach out to you to walk you through the entire return process.
All return request should be done within 14 days from the date of delivery, any requests done after the 14th day mark will not be considered.
Please note, you will be charged a 20% restocking fee for each return. Refunds will be credited to the original form of payment used at the time of purchase once the returned item is confirmed received.
Exchange requests are done a little differently. You need to contact Moon Pod via email to initiate an exchange request.
