Our experience with Happsy Mattress
You know it and I know it – all-natural and organic mattresses ARE expensive.
Latex (among all the other natural things that organic mattresses contain), as opposed to man-made foam, costs a lot to source and produce, hence the somewhat exorbitant prices.
But some mattress brands like Happsy have found a way to produce organic mattresses at half the cost.
I know what you’re thinking – does the lower price affect the quality of the mattress?
Not necessarily.
While some mattress brands happily cut corners, Happsy doesn’t and it definitely shows.
Made from premium, high quality materials such as GOLS certified organic latex, organic wool and organic cotton as well as recycled steel coils, the Happsy Organic mattress is built simply but sturdily.
The Happsy Organic mattress is also fiberglass-free which means it is very safe to sleep on (especially if you share a bed with your kids).
Here’s the thing though, for a hybrid mattress that’s supposedly built with reinforced edges, the Happsy has very poor edge support. That means you don’t get to utilize the entire mattress surface.
Firmness
The Happsy comes in two mattress options: medium-firm and plush.
The medium-firm sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale and the plush version sits on a 4.5.
A medium-firm mattress is best for back and stomach sleepers, as it not only gives them pressure relief but also helps with proper spinal alignment.
As for combination and side sleepers, a softer mattress is best.
The Happsy Organic mattress is suitable for all sleeper types.
While the Happsy is a hybrid mattress and can definitely accommodate average to slightly heavier-set people and provide them with the extra support that they need, I found it to be a little too soft for those who weigh well over 250 lbs.
Cooling Test
We rate the Happsy mattress a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
You probably already know this but pure latex is naturally cooling.
So it should come as no surprise that the Happsy is a pretty cool mattress to sleep on, especially with its pocketed coils acting as an internal air vent that allows air to flow through freely.
This makes the Happsy mattress an excellent choice for those that tend to sleep hot.
Motion Transfer Test
We rate the Happsy mattress a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
While the Happsy did a fairly good job of keeping cross mattress movement at bay, I did experience some motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner who was heavier than me.
So it’s best to keep that in mind, ESPECIALLY if you’re a lightweight sleeper and you share a bed with a partner who is heavier than you are.
Edge Support Test
We rate the Happsy mattress a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
This is where the Happsy mattress disappoints – edge support is practically non-existent.
It’s not really be a problem if you sleep alone or you’re not really the type of sleeper who likes sleeping close to the edge, but it’s absolutely an issue if you do/are.
A mattress with good edge support allows you to utilize the entire mattress surface which is crucial especially if you share a bed with a partner.
Pressure Relief/Comfort Test
We rate the Happsy mattress an 8 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief and comfort.
No matter your sleeping position, you will get enough pressure relief as well as spinal alignment with the Happsy mattress thanks to its combo of organic latex and individually pocketed coils.
Don’t expect any deep compression or contouring like you’d get from a memory foam mattress though – the latex and coil combo offers more of a responsive feel.
Construction
Simply constructed, the Happsy Organic mattress is made up of only four layers.
The layers all come encased in a GOTS certified organic cotton cover that’s light and breathable.
The first layer is made up of a wool batting that also acts as a natural fire barrier.
Beneath that lies the comfort layer which is made up of GOLS certified organic latex foam. This layer offers comfort and pressure relief.
The coil unit is made up of 8-inch individually pocketed coils that’s glue-less for further mattress safety. This layer offers zoned and responsive support.
The base layer as well as all around the mattress is made up of organic cotton filling which further adds to the mattress’ comfort and stability.
Durability
Happsy is a mattress brand that’s made by Naturepedic, an organic mattress brand that’s known to make premium products with high quality materials that are sustainably and ethically sourced.
The Happsy brand is no different.
With proper mattress care and maintenance, your Happsy Organic mattress can last you a very long time.

Conclusion
Organic mattresses tend to be very expensive, but Happsy offers similar quality at a more affordable price point.
I really liked the comfort and cooling capabilities of Happsy. On the other hand, I wasn’t too impressed with the edge support.
Whether it’s the right mattress for you depends on your own needs and preferences, but I think it’s definitely one you should put on your short list. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
