#1. Helix Midnight Luxe

Pros
- Great for side sleepers and combination sleepers
- Good for couples
- Plush and pressure relieving
- Fiberglass-free
Cons
- Not suitable for hot sleepers
- Not suitable for heavier-set back and stomach sleepers

Why it’s the best
With its multiple layers of proprietary memory foam, responsive foam, and a coil unit that’s made up of up to a thousand pocketed steel coils, there’s no question that the Helix Midnight Luxe provides comfort and support in spades.
Traditional memory foam can make you feel like you’re “stuck in the mud”. That’s bad. Really bad.
Luckily, the proprietary foam layers in this mattress are responsive so won’t feel any sinkage (no matter your preferred sleeping position).
Another thing I liked a lot about the Helix Midnight Luxe is it absorbs movement really well, making it a good choice for couples.
Like most mattresses in Helix’s lineup, this one is also available in a base model Midnight and high-end Midnight Elite configuration.

Helix Midnight Luxe Performance
The Helix Midnight Luxe sits on a 6 on the mattress firmness scale, giving it a medium-firm feel. It’s suitable for most sleeper types including side sleepers and combination sleepers.
Heavyweight sleepers though may find that it dips in places like the lumbar area which could throw off their spinal alignment. That’s something to think about if you weight above average for your height.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe an 8.5 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.
The combination of proprietary memory foam layers and 8-inch pocketed coils provide more than enough pressure relief, especially for side sleepers and combination sleepers.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 6 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
For a hybrid mattress that supposedly contains a coil unit (which allows for greater air flow) as well as copper-infused foam layers, it surprisingly retains quite a good amount of heat.
If you tend to sleep hot, this mattress isn’t for you.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 10 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Manmade foam (like the foam found in this mattress) is best when it comes to absorbing movement. I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe 9 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
The mattress contains reinforced edge coils.
These coils provide extra edge support, which allows you to sleep on the entire mattress surface.

Alternate pick: Helix Dusk Luxe

If you’re a strict back or stomach sleeper, check out the Helix Dusk Luxe mattress.
True, it’s a medium-firm (just like the Midnight Luxe), but it skews more towards the firmer side of the spectrum, making it suitable for those who sleep on their backs and stomachs.
If you have issues with hip or lower back pain, this is definitely a mattress you should consider buying.
It’s also available in a base-model (cheaper) and Elite (more expensive) configuration.

#2. Bear Pro Hybrid

Pros
- Helps support your lumbar area while you sleep
- Excellent edge support
- Helps with muscle recovery
- Great for back and stomach sleepers
Cons
- Cooling cover option requires an additional fee
- Not the best for those who tend to sleep hot
35% off coupon code: SLEEPLINE35
Why it’s one of the best
Bear is the only mattress brand (that I’m aware of) that promises to help with muscle recovery. That gets a lot of points in my book.
Celliant – the fabric that Bear uses for their mattress covers including the one on the Pro Hybrid – has been scientifically proven to help with muscle recovery while you sleep.
Straddling the line between medium and firm, I find that the Bear Pro Hybrid is best for back and stomach sleepers since it leans more towards the firmer side of that spectrum.
It’s especially great for those who weigh less than average.
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 10 inches |
| Firmness levels | Medium Firm |
| Materials | Cotton quilt cover/Celliant cover, gel-infused memory foam, Bear Dynamic foam, pocketed coils |

Bear Pro Hybrid Performance
The Bear Pro Hybrid sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a medium-firm feel that’s ever so slightly firmer than most medium-firm mattresses.
While it’s fine for all sleeper types including combination sleepers, it’s really best for back and stomach sleepers.
The Bear Pro Hybrid might be a little too firm if you sleep on your side. But as far as weight goes, it’s great for heavier-set sleepers – assuming you sleep mostly on your back or stomach.
We rate the Bear Pro Hybrid a 7 out of 10 when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.
Although the mattress contains gel memory foam, it can be a little too firm for side sleepers.
We rate the Bear Pro Hybrid a 7 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
The mattress doesn’t sleep exceptionally cool, but it does not sleep hot either.
The gel-infused memory foam and airflow-enhancing coil unit keep it from turning into a furnace. You can further enhance its cooling capabilities by opting for a Celliant cover.
We rate the Bear Pro Hybrid a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Unfortunately, I experienced a good amount of motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner. This mattress is best if you’re a single sleeper.
We rate the Bear Pro Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Like most Bear mattresses, this one contains reinforced edges, which helps provide great support.

Alternate pick: Bear Original

For an all-foam alternative, check out the Bear Original mattress.
Made with layers of pressure relieving memory foam and Bear’s own proprietary ‘Dynamic foam’, you get deep compression that you’d come to expect from a mattress without springs but without any of the sinkage.

#3. Saatva Classic

Pros
- Suitable for all sleeper types
- Great for couples
- Comes in multiple firmness options
- Treated with a botanical-based antimicrobial treatment
Cons
- Edge support is too firm
- Expensive
Why it’s one of the best
Simple in its construction, the Saatva Classic is an innerspring mattress that contains a thin layer of gel-infused memory foam and two different types of coil units – a pocketed coil one and 13-gauge tempered steel innerspring base layer.
I also liked that you can choose between three different firmness options. Different types of sleepers need different levels of firmness, so it’s always good when brands release a range you can choose from.
The only downside to the Saatva Classic is a ‘too much of a good thing’ kind of situation – the raised edges are a little too firm to be comfortable.
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 11.5 inches/14.5 inches |
| Firmness levels | Medium Soft, Medium, Medium Firm |
| Materials | Organic cotton cover, Euro pillow top, gel-infused memory foam, individually wrapped recycled steel coils, high density foam rails, tempered steel base layer |
| Free trial period | 365 nights |
| Warranty length | Lifetime warranty |
| Shipping | Free |
| Certification | CertiPUR-US |
Saatva Classic Performance
As I’ve mentioned, you get to choose between three different firmness options with the Saatva Classic: medium-soft, medium and medium-firm.
This makes it suitable for all sleeper types – from strict side sleepers to combination sleepers to back and stomach sleepers.
The Saatva Classic is great heavier-set individuals due to its hybrid construction.
We rate the Saatva Classic a 9.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
The coil support core provides support and the foam comfort layer does a great job of contouring to your body shape. If mattresses normally cause you pain, this is the brand that will fix it.
We rate the Saatva Classic a 9.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
This is probably one of the coolest mattresses I’ve slept on.
But I guess with two sets of coil units why wouldn’t it be? I can safely say that the Saatva Classic is one of the best mattresses you can buy if you sleep extremely hot.
We rate the Saatva Classic an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Even with its two sets of coils – which in theory would make it bouncier – this mattress did a pretty good job at absorbing any cross mattress movement.
It’s a great choice for those that share a bed with a partner.
We rate the Saatva Classic a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
It’s not that the edge support is bad, in fact, it’s very good.
But the edges are raised just a little too high for comfort, and I have to take away some points for that.
#4. Birch Natural

Pros
- Great for hot sleepers
- Natural and all-organic
- Offers great edge support
- Suitable for all sleeper types
Cons
- Motion isolation is not the best
- Can be a bit too pricey for some
20% off coupon code: SLEEPLINE20
Why it’s one of the best
The terms all-natural and organic can be slapped onto anything these days… but it’s quite different when it comes backed by not one but multiple certifications like it does with the Birch Natural mattress.
Made from a blend of certified-organic Talalay latex, organic wool, and recycled steel coils; the Birch Natural also features one of the best cooling systems I’ve ever come across, making it a good choice for those who sleep hot.
One more thing that’s of note is that it’s surrounded by raised, reinforced edges; giving the mattress very good edge support.
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 11 inches |
| Firmness levels | Medium Firm |
| Materials | Organic cotton cover, plant-based fire retardant, certified organic wool, certified natural latex foam, individually wrapped coils |
| Free trial period | 100 nights |

| Certification | GOTS, GOLS, Greenguard Gold, eco-INSTITUT, Fair Trade |
Birch Natural Performance
The Birch Natural sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a medium-firm feel that’s leaning mostly towards firm, which makes it best for those who sleep mostly on their backs and stomachs.
Sure, side sleepers can sleep comfortably on most medium-firm mattresses but I find the Birch Natural to be just a little too firm.
We rate the Birch Natural a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
To be perfectly honest, this mattress only gets a 7 just because it’s not really great for side sleepers.
But if you sleep on your back and/or stomach, it will be more than comfortable enough and will relieve pressure on your back, hips, and shoulders.
We rate the Birch Natural a 9.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
I’m sure you already know this by now but pure latex is proven to be naturally cooling.
The latex foam used in this mattress doesn’t retain heat the way man-made foam does, making it one of the coolest (literally) mattresses I’ve ever tried.
We rate the Birch Natural a 6 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
For all its merits, natural latex also has a downside – it’s springier than most man-made foam.
Coupled with an already bouncy coil unit makes for a mattress that doesn’t really isolate motion very well.
Definitely not the mattress for couples.
We rate the Birch Natural an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
This mattress features raised, reinforced edges which gives it extra edge support.
You won’t be in any danger of rolling off the edge of the bed.

Alternate pick: Birch Luxe Natural

If you want an all-natural mattress like the Birch Natural but with better motion isolation, check out the Birch Luxe Natural.
Also a medium-firm, the Luxe Natural contains a thicker layer of foam which helps absorb any cross mattress movement, making it a great choice for couples.

#5. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex

Pros
- Pressure-relieving
- Good motion isolation – perfect for couples
- Great for back pain
- Suitable for back and stomach sleepers
Cons
- Sleeps hot
- Too firm for lightweight side sleepers
25% off coupon code: SLEEPLINE25
Why it’s one of the best
Hybrid copper-infused memory foam mattresses can be pretty pricey. But the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex promises to be affordable without skimping on benefits.
Featuring layers of proprietary foam and copper-infused memory foam, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex is a hybrid mattress that contains a coil unit to provide added support.
The coil unit is the reason why I think this is a good mattress even if you weigh more than average (because it prevents sagging).
If you suffer from chronic back pain like I do, you’ll appreciate the targeted support that the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex provides – I woke up for the first time ever not feeling like I had to rush to a chiropractor first thing in the morning (exaggerating… but not really).
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 14 inches |
| Firmness levels | Medium Firm |
| Materials | GlacioTex cooling cover, quilted comfort foam, copper-infused memory foam, supreme response foam, transition foam, individually wrapped steel coils, high density foam |
| Free trial period | 120 nights |
| Warranty length | 10 years |

| Certification | CertiPUR-US |
Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Performance
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex is a medium-firm mattress, sitting at around a 7 on the mattress firmness scale.
This firmness level does skew a bit firmer so it’s best for stomach and back sleepers. Side sleepers will definitely find the CopperFlex mattress to be a bit too firm.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
I’m a stomach sleeper and I experienced both the compression of an all-foam mattress and the responsive support of an innerspring mattress. Who doesn’t want the best of both worlds in one mattress, especially for its price point?
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex a 6 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
True, it contains copper-infused memory foam (I mean, it’s right there in the name). Copper is thought to be a really good conductor for heat but surprisingly the mattress slept pretty hot when I tried it out.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex an 8 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
It should come as no surprise that the mattress performs well when it comes to isolating movement thanks to the four layers of foam, which absorb motion transfer instantly.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
The mattress contains reinforced edge coils that give it extra support around the perimeter of the bed.

Alternate pick: Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid

If you need something with more firmness options, check out the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid.
Unlike the CopperFlex (which only comes in medium-firm), you get three different firmness options to choose from with the Signature Hybrid. This makes it suitable for all sleeping positions.
It also has superb motion isolation making it a great choice for couples.

#6. Glacier Apex Hybrid

Pros
- Helps relieve pressure off main pressure points
- Great for side sleepers
- Good motion isolation
- Fiberglass-free
Cons
- Slight off-gassing
- Not suitable for heavier-set stomach sleepers
Why it’s one of the best
Plush and cloud-like, the Glacier Apex Hybrid is not for the faint of heart (and sadly, not for heavier-set back and stomach sleepers), but if you’re a strict side sleeper, this mattress is worth considering.
While its supposed main selling point is its cooling capabilities, the real benefit comes from its motion isolation.
This mattress should be on your potential “to buy” list if you’re a light sleeper and share a bed with a partner or a pet who keeps you up at night with their tossing and turning.
The Glacier Apex Hybrid contains actively-cooling materials – in fact, most of its layers are chock-full of anti-heat retention features – and it allows you to sleep cool and fresh throughout the night.
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 14 inches |
| Firmness levels | Medium Soft |
| Materials | GlacierTECH Elite cooling cover, quilted pillow top, graphite-infused memory foam, copper-infused foam, responsive memory foam, ARCFlow ventilated gel foam, pocketed coils, high density foam |

Glacier Apex Hybrid Performance
The Glacier Apex Hybrid sits on a 4 on the mattress firmness scale which gives it a medium-soft feel.
This firmness level is ideal if you’re a side sleeper or a combination sleeper… but can wreak havoc on your spinal alignment if you mostly sleep on your back or stomach.
We rate the Glacier Apex Hybrid an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
Soft doesn’t automatically mean comfortable, but this mattress does pressure off all the right places (especially if you sleep on your side).
We rate the Glacier Apex Hybrid a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
The mattress contains actively-cooling materials in almost all its layers.
While it’s not the coolest mattress I’ve tried, it did manage to sleep pretty cool. Not the best but far from being the worst.
We rate the Glacier Apex Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
The mattress’ foam layers absorb virtually all cross-mattress movement.
I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner. Couples should strongly consider buying this mattress.
We rate the Glacier Apex Hybrid a 7 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Edge support isn’t this mattress’ strong suit.
You may find yourself rolling off the bed if you’re the type of sleeper who likes laying close to the edge.
Alternate pick: Glacier Summit Hybrid

Take a look at the Glacier Summit Hybrid if you’re a back or stomach sleeper.
The Glacier Summit Hybrid is neither too firm nor too soft… which means it can accommodate all sleeping positions.
#7. Happsy Organic Mattress

Pros
- Certified organic
- Offers responsive support
- Cooling
- Fiberglass-free
Cons
- Poor edge support
- Slight motion transfer
15% off coupon code: SLEEPLINE15
Why it’s one of the best
Organic mattresses are expensive (in fact, anything labeled organic tends to be pricey) but the Happsy is anything but.
I know what you’re thinking – have they cut corners somehow?
The answer is no.
The Happsy Organic Mattress contains GOLS-certified organic latex foam, organic wool and cotton, and recycled steel coils.
They keep their costs down by sourcing everything themselves and making everything in-house.
Specs at a glance

Happsy Organic Mattress Performance
You get to choose between two different firmness options with the Happsy Organic mattress – a medium-soft and a medium-firm.
Opt for the medium-soft if you’re a side or combination sleeper and choose the medium-firm if you sleep mostly on your back or stomach.
We rate the Happsy Organic mattress an 8 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
The mattress did a great job at taking pressure off my hips, shoulders, and back.
We rate the Happsy Organic mattress a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Pure latex is naturally cooling and hypoallergenic. Wood is also temperature regulating. These materials combine to create a mattress the sleeps VERY cool. I didn’t break a sweat when I tried this mattress out.
We rate the Happsy Organic mattress a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
For a mattress that contains both coils and latex foam (which tends to be springier than regular foam), it performs well when it comes to absorbing cross-mattress movement. Not the best, but also not the worst.
We rate the Happsy Organic mattress a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Unfortunately, the mattress doesn’t contain reinforced edge coils nor enhanced or raised edges.
I have to say that the edge support of the mattress is pretty flimsy.

#8. SweetZzz Honey Hybrid

Pros
- Good for couples
- Fully organic
- Responsive and pressure relieving
- Fiberglass-free
Cons
- Medium version may be too firm for petite side sleepers
- Not as compressing as memory foam
Why it’s one of the best
Here’s another organic option for you that can be bought now and paid for later – the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid.
This is a fiberglass-free, organic latex hybrid mattress that offers zoned support, which is especially beneficial if you suffer from back pain and/or improper spinal alignment.
Pressure relief is a standout feature of this mattress. The latex comfort foam provides more than enough pressure relief for every sleeper type.
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress also has superb edge support, which allows you to sleep on the entire mattress surface – which is great because it also has great motion isolation (making it a good option for couples).
Specs at a glance
| Thickness levels | 9 inches, 10 inches, 13 inches |

SweetZzz Honey Hybrid Performance
You get to choose between three different firmness options with the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid – medium-soft, medium-firm and firm.
The medium-soft version is best if you’re a side sleeper. The medium-firm version is good for all sleeper types (including combination sleepers). The firm version is best if you sleep on your back or stomach.
We rate the SweetZzz Honey Hybrid a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
The pressure relief on this mattress is really good (for a latex mattress). Obviously, no mattress made out of latex can compare to memory foam in this department, but I’m still impressed.
We rate the SweetZzz Honey Hybrid an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Pure latex is naturally cooling. When combined with temperature regulating Calmera wool and an airflow-enhancing coil unit, there’s essentially zero chance for any heat retention.
If you sleep hot, you should strongly consider buying this mattress.
We rate the SweetZzz Honey Hybrid an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
This mattress is a great choice for couples because it absorbs movement VERY well. I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner.
We rate the SweetZzz Honey Hybrid a 9.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
The mattress contains both reinforced edge coils AND raised edges. So it should come as no surprise that it ranks pretty high when it comes to edge support.
If you like to sleep near the edge of the bed, you could do much worse than buying this one.
#9. Plank Firm

Pros
- Helps with proper spinal alignment
- Good for back pain
- Flippable
- Great for couples
Cons
- Average edge support
- Not suitable for heavier-set people
25% Off Coupon Code: SLEEPLINE25
Why it’s one of the best
The Plank Firm is a flippable mattress that offers two different firmness levels all within one mattress – a firm and an extra-firm.
If you like softer mattresses: look elsewhere. Your only options here are firm and even more firm.
This is great for back and stomach sleepers, who need firmer mattresses not only for added support but also to help them achieve proper spinal alignment.
Another noteworthy thing about the Plank Firm is its motion isolating capabilities – it’s second to none.
So if you and your partner have pretty similar sleeping positions (and both like VERY firm mattresses), this mattress is a good choice.
Specs at a glance

Plank Firm Performance
There are two different firmness levels in the Plank Firm mattress – a firm and an extra-firm, and yes, you get both in one mattress.
Firm mattresses like the Plank Firm are really only good for strict stomach sleepers and strict back sleepers. This is not the mattress for you if you’re a side sleeper.
We rate the Plank Firm a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
Firmer mattresses don’t get a lot of love (except from strict back or stomach sleepers) hence the 7 rating. But if you are one of the two then you definitely get more than enough pressure point relief as well as zoned support.
This mattress is fantastic for back sleepers with back pain relief.
We rate the Plank Firm an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
This mattress doesn’t retain any heat, making it a great choice if you tend to sleep hot.
We rate the Plank Firm a 9.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Most all-foam mattresses are pretty great at isolating movement and this one is no exception. I felt no movement whatsoever when I tried the mattress out with a partner.
We rate the Plank Firm a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
There are no reinforced edge coils nor raised edges here, but it still performed decently when it comes to edge support.

- Offers deep compression

Cons
- Not suitable for heavier-set stomach sleepers

Why it’s one of the best
Not a big fan of coils? The Egohome Black is your buy now, pay later answer.
Made up of layers of proprietary foam including a cooling memory foam alternative, the Egohome Black provides contouring and compression similar to a traditional memory foam mattress.
That’s right – the Egohome Black is pretty affordable and it’s excellent for couples too.
I know not a lot of people like the sinkage of a classic memory foam mattress… but I also know a lot of people go out of their way to look for it.
And that’s exactly what I experienced with the Egohome Black.
Its sleek looking black cover is easy on the eyes too and that’s always a bonus.

Egohome Black Performance
You get to choose between two different firmness options with the Egohome Black mattress – a medium-soft and a medium-firm.
Choose the medium-soft if you’re a strict side sleeper or combination sleeper and opt for the medium-firm version if you’re a back or stomach sleeper.
Being an all-foam mattress though, the Egohome Black isn’t able to accommodate heavier-set people and it won’t provide them with the extra support they need.
We rate the Egohome Black an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
I mean, come on.
Memory foam mattresses are practically king when it comes to pressure point relief. The memory foam alternative layers in this mattress perform just as well, if not better than some memory foam mattress brands out there.
We rate the Egohome Black a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
What was the saying again? With the sweets, come the sour.
Don’t expect an all-foam mattress that has memory foam alt layers to perform well when it comes to temperature regulation – it just isn’t possible. This is not for the hot sleepers, not by a long shot.
We rate the Egohome Black a 10 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
10 over 10. No notes.
The foam layers of the Egohome Black mattress absorb each and every movement making it a good choice if you share a bed.
We rate the Egohome Black a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
I mean, they had to sacrifice something somewhere, I guess.
The mattress doesn’t contain any reinforced edges so you will find yourself rolling off the bed if you’re the type of sleeper who likes sleeping close to the edge.

How we chose these mattresses
A good mattress offers a balanced mix of comfort, support, and durability and we chose mattresses that excel in all three.
To determine a mattress’s performance, we also considered factors such as firmness, pressure relief, responsiveness, temperature regulation, motion isolation, and edge support.
We also made sure to contact every mattress brand on this list and confirm that their mattresses are eligible for a buy now, pay later plan.
Here’s a brief description of each factor we considered while making this list:
- Comfort – Comfort is pretty subjective. That’s why we look for mattresses that are comfortable for all body types and sleeping positions.
- Support – In terms of support, we look for mattresses that can hold at least 800 lbs. without sagging prematurely. Ample support is also essential for keeping a sleeper’s spine in proper alignment.
- Durability – A durable mattress is one that can provide a consistent level of comfort and support for a minimum of 10 years (industry standard). We tested the mattresses to make sure that they could support lightweight sleepers all the way to 500 lb. individuals without comprising their structural integrity. The type of mattress plays a major role in its durability.
- Firmness – Each person has unique firmness preferences depending on their body type, weight and preferred sleeping position. For that reason, we look for mattresses that are medium to medium-firm which is the firmness that fits the widest variety of sleepers. We also search for mattresses that come in multiple firmness levels to give consumers multiple options to choose from.
- Pressure relief – Pressure relief refers to the ability of a mattress to redistribute your body weight to prevent pressure from building up on one spot. To test for pressure relief, we check if a mattress can contour to our bodies and evenly distribute body weight.
- Responsiveness – This refers to how quickly a mattress snaps back to its original shape after pressure is released from it. We look for mattresses that allow for ease of movement and don’t give us a stuck-in-the-mud feeling.
- Temperature regulation – A mattress with good temperature regulation should not trap body heat. We look for mattresses with designs that promote air circulation and beds that contain cooling materials such as gel, copper or graphite infusions. Breathable covers are also a big plus in this area.
- Motion isolation – A mattress with good motion isolation is one that prevents motion on one side from transferring to the other side of the bed. This is especially important for those who sleep with fidgety partners.
- Edge support – This refers to how well the perimeter of a mattress can support weight. We test this by sleeping and sitting near the edge of the bed and measuring the degree of compression on the mattress.
- Certifications – We looked for mattresses that are backed by environmental certifications. Some of the certifications that we look out for are CertiPUR-US and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for all-foam beds, and GOTS and GOLS for organic mattresses.
- Buy Now, Pay Later Option – We checked for buy now, pay later options in the checkout page of each mattress brand. We also contacted the brands to confirm that they’re planning to offer it for the long haul.
Conclusion
A buy now, pay later plan allows you to purchase your dream mattress at a more manageable scale than paying for one upfront and in this day and age, it’s great that some mattress brands offer this option.
All the mattress brands that we included on this list offer good quality mattresses that can suit every budget, lifestyle and preference.
