Top 10 best mattresses that won’t sag
#1. Plank Firm
Pros
- Flippable – has two firmness options within one mattress
- Great motion isolation
- Good for back pain
- Helps with proper spinal alignment
Cons
- Average edge support
- May not be suitable for heavier-set individuals
Why it’s the overall best
Borrowing from the well-established Japanese tradition of tatami mats, the Plank Firm mattress is an all-foam mattress that features two different firmness levels all within one mattress.
Contrary to what you may think, there is a big market for firmer mattresses because they provide relief for those who suffer from back pain by helping with proper spinal alignment.
I’ve never encountered an all-foam mattress that didn’t have good motion isolation, and the Plank Firm is no exception. This makes it a good choice for those who share a bed.
The Plank Firm does not contain any memory foam – the number one culprit of heat retention – making it a pretty cool mattress to sleep on.

Plank Firm Performance
The Plank Firm mattress has 2 firmness levels – a firm on one side and an extra-firm on the other which is an 8 and a 10 on the mattress firmness scale.
And yes, these are FIRM firm and definitely not for strict side sleepers. The Plank Firm mattress is best for those who sleep on their stomachs or on their backs only.
We rate the Plank Firm mattress a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
Honestly, we only gave it a 7 just because the Plank Firm mattress cannot accommodate all sleeping positions (sorry, side sleepers) but for back and stomach sleepers, you’d still get the right amount of comfort and pressure relief.
We rate the Plank Firm mattress an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
That’s right. The Plank Firm does not contain a coil unit and you’d think that an all-foam mattress would be hot AF but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Plank Firm mattress actually sleeps cool since it does not contain any heat-retentive memory foam.
We rate the Plank Firm mattress a 9.5 out of 20 when it comes to motion isolation.
I haven’t yet come across an all-foam mattress that did not perform well when it comes to motion isolation and the Plank Firm mattress is no exception. In fact, it’s probably one of the best mattresses I’ve tried that completely deadens any cross mattress movement making it a good choice for couples.
We rate the Plank Firm mattress a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Although not the worst, the edge support on the Plank Firm mattress is also not the best I’ve tried. In fact, it’s pretty average. You won’t be rolling off the bed per se but you may have to be extra careful if you’re on the heavier side.
Alternate pick: Plank Firm Luxe
If you like how the Plank Firm mattress sounds but you need the extra support of a coil unit, check out the Plank Firm Luxe mattress.
You still get the same features as the OG Plank Firm mattress such as two different firmness levels within one mattress, great motion isolation and cooling but with the extra support of individually wrapped Ascension spring coils.
#2. Nolah Original Hybrid
Pros
- Suitable for heavier-set sleepers
- Suitable for all sleeping positions
- Responsive and pressure relieving
- Cooling
Cons
- Slight off gassing
- Edge support could be better
Why it’s one of the best
Ever wondered how a mattress would feel if it had memory foam without any of the sinkage? You can stop wondering right now because the Nolah Original Hybrid is just that.
Featuring a proprietary memory foam alternative called Airfoam, the Nolah Original Hybrid offers the same contouring as traditional memory foam but without any of the sinkage.
The coil unit of the Nolah Original Hybrid also provides even more responsive support to the mattress making it suitable for those who weigh well over 250 lbs.
For a mattress that contains coils, the Nolah Original offers pretty good motion isolation and of course, the Airfoam being a memory foam alternative means it won’t retain any heat like true memory foam will which is a definite plus for both hot sleepers and couples.
The edge support of the Nolah Original could use a little more work though and I’m hoping Nolah is listening.

Nolah Original Hybrid Performance
The Nolah Original Hybrid sits on a 5.5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a true medium feel which means it’s suitable for all sleeper types including stomach sleepers and side sleepers.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Nolah Original Hybrid is also suitable for heavier-set sleepers as it would give them the extra lumbar support that they would need.
We rate the Nolah Original Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
It should come as no surprise that the Nolah Original Hybrid rates high when it comes to comfort and pressure relief. The Airfoam layer (which as I’ve mentioned is Nolah’s very own memory foam alternative) acts just like traditional memory foam giving you compression and contouring but without any of the sinkage.
We rate the Nolah Original Hybrid an 8 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Both the Airfoam and the transition foam layer of the Nolah Original Hybrid features an open-cell technology that helps dissipate any heat and the addition of a coil unit allows for greater airflow making the Nolah Original Hybrid an excellent choice for those that tend to sleep hot.
We rate the Nolah Original Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
You would think a mattress that contains coils would perform poorly and have a lot of motion transfer but once again Nolah’s proprietary memory foam alternative comes to the rescue. The Nolah Original Hybrid performs so well – if not better even – than some online mattress brands out there making which is great news for couples.
We rate the Nolah Original Hybrid a 7 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Sad to say that even if the Nolah Original Hybrid is a very supportive mattress, it didn’t give us much in terms of edge support due to its lack of reinforced edge coils.
Alternate pick: Nolah Evolution 15
If you want a souped-up version of the Nolah Original Hybrid, check out the Nolah Evolution 15 mattress.
Featuring a plush pillow top and actively cooling materials such as an AirBreath border gusset and ArcticTex fiber-infused covers, the Nolah Evolution 15 also comes in three different firmness options to choose from so there’s bound to be something for everyone.
#3. Birch Luxe Natural
Pros
- Naturally cooling and hypoallergenic
- Good for back and stomach sleepers
- Offers responsive support
- Made from natural latex
Cons
- May be a bit too firm for strict side sleepers
- Not suitable for heavier-set individuals
Why it’s one of the best
If you’re a strict back or stomach sleeper and want a mattress that’s all-organic and natural then you can’t go wrong with the Birch Luxe Natural.
Made from a blend of GOLS certified organic latex, organic wool, individually wrapped recycled steel coils and plant-based fiber, the Birch Luxe Natural is as all-natural as you can get when it comes to organic latex mattresses.
You may already know this but pure latex is naturally cooling and hypoallergenic which makes the Birch Luxe Natural the best choice for those who suffer from chronic allergies as well as those who tend to sleep extremely hot.
The Birch Luxe Natural also features reinforced edge coils which not only gives you good edge support but also allows you to utilize the entire mattress surface.

Birch Luxe Natural Performance
The Birch Luxe Natural sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale, giving it a medium-firm feel which could actually feel firmer for lightweight sleepers.
The Birch Luxe Natural mattress is best for back and stomach sleepers and while some side sleepers could sleep on it comfortably and get enough pressure relief, I don’t really recommend it for side sleepers who weigh less than average.
We rate the Birch Luxe Natural an 8 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
Honestly, this would have been a 9 if the Birch Luxe Natural would be a tad softer to accommodate lightweight side sleepers but for all other sleeper types the Birch Luxe Natural mattress offers more than enough contouring yet very responsive comfort thanks to its double latex layers.
We rate the Birch Luxe Natural a 9 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
You know what I’m going to say – pure latex is naturally cooling so you can definitely expect the Birch Luxe Natural to be pretty cool to sleep on. Not only that, the coil unit of the Birch Luxe Natural also allows for continuous airflow so heat can escape and not stay stuck within the mattress.
We rate the Birch Luxe Natural an 8 out 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Here’s another hybrid mattress that’s not going to have you bouncing off the walls, I mean, bed – the Birch Luxe Natural’s latex foam layers are responsive but also compressing which means it absorbs a lot of cross mattress movement. I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the Birch Luxe Natural out with a partner.
We rate the Birch Luxe Natural an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Like a lot of premium online hybrid mattresses these days, the Birch Luxe Natural also features reinforced edge coils which in turn provides good edge support. You won’t feel as though you’re in any danger of rolling off the bed when you lay close to the edge.
Alternate pick: Birch Natural
So you’re a strict side sleeper and want something softer – check out the Birch Natural.
Softer and plusher than the Birch Luxe Natural, the Birch Natural actually features pretty much the same construction as the Birch Luxe Natural but it has more of a medium feel which suits pretty much everyone.
#4. Helix Midnight Elite
Pros
- Plush and pressure relieving
- Suitable for couples
- Great for side sleepers and combination sleepers
- Good for those who suffer from chronic pain
Cons
- Not for strict stomach sleepers
- Average edge support
Why it’s one of the best
With its plush pillow top and layers of proprietary memory foam as well as steel micro-coils, the Helix Midnight offers the deep compression and contouring that only a premier memory foam mattress can give but without any of that stuck in the mud feel.
You have to admit, it’s quite rare to find a mattress that features alternating layers of foam and coils but the Helix Midnight Elite contains just that. And to add icing to the cake, it is topped with a quilted foam pillow top that feels just like a high-end hotel bed.
Although not the best I’ve tried, the motion isolation and cooling properties of the Helix Midnight Elite still performed pretty well so that you won’t feel much movement or heat retention which is great especially if you’re a hot sleeper who shares a bed.
Specs at a glance

Helix Midnight Elite Performance
The Helix Midnight Elite has a medium-soft feel which is around a 4.5 on the mattress firmness scale.
While this type of firmness level can accommodate most sleeper types, some back and stomach sleepers might find that a softer mattress could throw their spinal alignment out of whack so it’s best to keep this in mind if you are one.
We rate the Helix Midnight Elite a 10 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
It’s not often that we rate a mattress a 10 out of 10 but the Helix Midnight Elite is just that comfortable. The multiple layers of memory foam, micro-coils and pocketed coils all work together seamlessly to provide absolute contouring akin to that of a Tempur-Pedic bed.
We rate the Helix Midnight Elite a 7 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Good but not great is how I would describe the Helix Midnight Elite as far as cooling goes. The GlacioTex cooling cover and the coil layers are doing all the heavy lifting here since all the foam layers do retain a tiny amount of heat.
We rate the Helix Midnight Elite a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Although the foam layers absorb most of the movement on the Helix Midnight Elite, the 3 layers of coils also contribute so motion isolation on the mattress is not quite as good as I expected. If you share a bed with a partner and you’re both of average weight then it won’t be too bad. If you’re heavier-set though then that might be a problem.
We rate the Helix Midnight Elite a 6.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
You would think all the micro-coils and coil unit would provide triple the reinforcement but that is sadly not the case with the Helix Midnight Elite mattress. Even though Helix features what they call their ‘full perimeter reinforcement’, the edge support you’d get on the Helix Midnight Elite is practically non-existent (sorry, Helix).
Alternate pick: Helix Midnight
If you prefer not to shell out the big bucks but still want a premium mattress, check out the Helix Midnight.
Like the Helix Midnight Elite, the Helix Midnight still features layers of memory foam alternative which provides the same no-sink pressure relief. You just don’t get the layers of micro-coils and you’d need to pay an additional fee for the GlacioTex cooling cover.
#5. Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
Pros
- Offers responsive support
- Great for couples
- Comes in a variety of mattress sizes
- Comes in three firmness options
Cons
- Extra cooling top comes with an additional fee
- May be too pricey for some
Why it’s one of the best
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid doesn’t just come in standard sizes – you get all of the not so common mattress sizes too such as an RV King and an Olympic Queen.
Made up of a blend of proprietary foam and coils, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid also features a premium quilted top that resists body impressions which in turn helps prevent premature mattress sag.
You also get to choose between three different firmness options with the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid which means there’s something for everyone, even if you are a heavier-set sleeper who prefers sleeping mostly on your back or stomach – you’d still get the proper spinal alignment that you’d need.
Here’s one thing you need to keep in mind though especially if you tend to sleep hot – although the Brooklyn Bedding Signature mattress is not too heat retentive, you still might experience a tiny amount of heat retention and if you want to add on a cooling pillow top, you’d need to pay an additional fee.

Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid Performance
You get three different firmness options with the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid: soft, medium and firm.
The soft version is for strict side sleepers while the medium version is for most sleeper types including combination sleepers. Back and stomach sleepers though should opt for the firm version as it would give them the proper spinal alignment that they would need.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
It should come as no surprise that the multiple layers of proprietary foam (including a memory foam alternative) of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid sleeps extremely comfortable and are able to provide more than enough pressure relief for any sleeper type.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 7 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Although the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress does not contain any actively cooling materials, it isn’t as heat retentive as a traditional memory foam mattress thanks to its 8-inch coil unit which allows for greater air flow. You also get the option to add a cooling pillow top for an additional fee if you need the mattress to sleep cooler.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Even with the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid’s 8-inch coil unit, the mattress still did a great job at absorbing any cross mattress movement. I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid an 8 out 10 when it comes to edge support.
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid features larger sized edge coils all along the perimeter of the mattress which helps provide good edge support to the mattress allowing you to utilize the entire mattress surface.
Alternate pick: Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe
If you need something that’s extremely cool to sleep on (literally), check out the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress.
Featuring actively cooling materials such as a GlacioTex cooling cover and copper-infused foam, the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress does not retain any heat whatsoever making it the perfect choice for those who sleep hot.
#6. WinkBeds GravityLux
Pros
- Good for back pain
- Great edge support
- Perfect for couples
- Cooling
Cons
- Slight off-gassing
- Medium version may still be too firm for some sleeper types
Why it’s one of the best
Most all-foam mattresses just feature 2 slabs of foam at most but the WinkBeds GravityLux features multiple layers of proprietary memory foam alternatives that all work together to create a mattress that feels just like a high-end memory foam mattress.
And for a memory foam mattress, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the WinkBeds GravityLux actually sleeps cool thanks to its open-celled memory foam layers that are also infused with cooling gel.
If you share a bed with a partner, the WinkBeds GravityLux is just the ticket to get a good night’s sleep because not just one but all of its foam layers fully absorb any cross mattress movement.
The WinkBeds GravityLux mattress performs brilliantly all across the board even when it comes to edge support allowing you to take full advantage of the entire mattress surface.

WinkBeds GravityLux Performance
You get to choose between three different firmness options with the WinkBeds GravityLux: soft, medium and firm.
The firm version is geared towards those who sleep on their backs or stomachs while the soft version is most suitable for those who sleep only on their sides. The medium version can suit most sleeper types including combination sleepers.
We rate the WinkBeds GravityLux a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
The only reason the WinkBeds gravityLux does not get full marks for pressure relief is because the GravityLux’s firmness skews a tiny bit different from what is stated on the WinkBeds website. You still get ample pressure relief but I suggest choosing a firmness option that’s lower than what you’d normally get for your preferred sleeping position.
We rate the Winkbeds GravityLux a 10 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
As I’ve mentioned previously, for a memory foam mattress the WinkBeds GravityLux performs amazingly well when it comes to cooling thanks to its cooling gel memory foam layers as well as open-celled foam layer.
We rate the WinkBeds GravityLux a 10 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
No surprises here – all-foam mattresses like the WinkBeds GravityLux are great at absorbing any cross mattress movement. I did not feel even an ounce of motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner.
We rate the WinkBeds GravityLux a 10 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Even without any reinforced edges (which usually only comes with hybrid mattresses), the WinkBeds GravityLux still provided us with exceptional edge support thanks in part to its high density foam layer. You won’t be in any danger of rolling off the bed even if you’re the type of sleeper who likes to sleep dangerously close to the edge.
Alternate pick: The WinkBed
If you prefer a hybrid mattress, check out the OG WinkBed mattress.
Coming in at 4 different firmness levels – including one that’s made specifically for heavier-set sleepers – the WinkBed mattress can accommodate all sleeper types of all shapes and sizes. Like the WinkBeds GravityLux, the WinkBed mattress also has great edge support and motion isolating capabilities.
#7. Bear Natural
Pros
- Suitable for all sleeper types
- Cooling and hypoallergenic
- Responsive yet pressure relieving
- Good for couples
Cons
- May be too soft for some
- Edge support could use a little bit of work
Why it’s one of the best
If you’re hankering for a hybrid latex mattress that feels just like a high-end hotel bed, look no further than the Bear Natural mattress.
Made from a blend of Talalay latex foam, proprietary foam and individually encased coils, the Bear Natural mattress feels like all the best parts of a latex foam mattress, a hybrid mattress and a memory foam mattress combined.
Contouring just like memory foam but responsive like latex, the Bear Natural mattress gives you compression without any of the sinkage.
Latex is also naturally cooling and along with the coil unit of the Bear Natural mattress makes for one extremely cooling mattress to sleep on.
Sadly, the edge support of the Bear Natural is not the best we’ve tried so it’s best to bear that in mind.

Bear Natural Performance
Although Bear calls their Bear Natural mattress a medium-firm, I found it more to be a medium-soft to medium which is around a 4.5-5 on the mattress firmness scale.
This means it’s definitely soft enough for strict side sleepers yet still able to accommodate most sleeper types except for heavier-set stomach sleepers who need a mattress that’s firmer.
We rate the Bear Natural a 9.5 when it comes to pressure relief.
Like I said, all the best bits of a latex mattress, a hybrid mattress and a memory foam mattress combined – what’s not to love when it comes to comfort and pressure relief? You get the same contouring and compression of a memory foam mattress but the no-sink responsiveness of a latex hybrid mattress.
We rate the Bear Natural a 7.5 when it comes to cooling.
As you may already know, pure latex is naturally cooling and combined with the Bear Natural’s coil unit makes the mattress pretty cool to sleep even though it’s not the coolest we’ve ever slept on.
We rate the Bear Natural an 8.5 when it comes to motion isolation.
Even with the inherent responsive nature of latex foam as well as the Bear Natural’s coil unit, I barely felt any motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner thanks to its proprietary foam later which helped absorb any cross mattress movement.
We rate the Bear Natural a 7 when it comes to edge support.
Ah, you were doing so well Bear Natural. When it comes to edge support though, the mattress could use a little bit of help. Even with its reinforced edge coils, the Bear Natural’s edge support is pretty average. If you’re heavier-set, I’d recommend not sleeping too close to the edge.
Alternate pick: Bear Star Hybrid
If you need something with a little extra oomph like help with muscle recovery, check out the Bear Star Hybrid.
Unlike the Bear Natural, the Bear Star Hybrid does not contain any latex foam but the proprietary memory foam layers and the coil unit of the Bear Star Hybrid more than makes up for it. The mattress also features a mattress cover made out of Celliant which is scientifically proven to help with muscle recovery.
#8. Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid
Pros
- Fully organic
- Fiberglass-free
- Offers responsive support
- Great for couples
Cons
- Not as compressing as memory foam
- Medium version may be too firm for lightweight side sleepers

The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is also fiberglass-free which makes it a clean and safe mattress to sleep on especially if you have small children.
Another thing that’s great about the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is that even though it contains a coil unit and latex is – compared to man-made foam – quite bouncy, it still absorbed any cross mattress movement making it a great choice for those who share a bed.

Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid Performance
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress comes in three different firmness options: medium-soft, medium-firm and firm.
You get a firmness option no matter you preferred sleeping position and being a hybrid mattress, the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress is also suitable for heavier-set individuals.
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress a 7.5 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
Ok, so the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid only gets a 7.5 from us only because of the fact that it isn’t as contouring and compressing as memory foam (which we all know you want) but it still offers more than enough pressure relief no matter what sleeping position you prefer.
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
I’ve probably mentioned this a thousand times on this list but pure latex is naturally cooling and combined with the pocketed coil unit of the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid makes it a very cooling mattress to sleep on especially if you’re a hot sleeper.
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
For a latex hybrid mattress (which you expect would be springy), the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid mattress performs very well at absorbing any cross mattress movement making it a good option for couples.
We rate the Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid a 9.5 when it comes to edge support.
The Sweet Zzz Honey Hybrid features reinforced thicker edge coils surrounding the entire perimeter of the mattress which gives the mattress good edge support all over. You won’t be in any danger of rolling off the bed with the Sweet Zzzz Honey Hybrid mattress.
#9. Avenco Original Hybrid Plus
Pros
- Affordable
- Great edge support
- Pressure relieving
- Good for back and stomach sleepers
Cons
- Not suitable for strict side sleepers
- Poor motion isolation
Why it’s one of the best
If you’re a strict back or stomach sleeper and want a firm mattress that can help you with proper spinal alignment, the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus mattress is what you’re looking for.
With a true firm feel, the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus helps with proper spinal alignment which is especially important if you suffer from back pain and need extra support in the lumbar area.
The Avenco Original Hybrid Plus mattress is made up of a combination of gel-infused memory foam, comfort foam and a hefty coil unit which makes up the bulk of the entire mattress and which is also where the mattress’ firmness comes from.
Suffice it to say, for a mattress this firm, it definitely is not suitable for strict side sleepers.

Avenco Original Hybrid Plus Performance
The Avenco Original Hybrid Plus mattress sits on a 7 on the mattress firmness scale which gives it a true firm feel.
Firm mattresses like the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus are best for strict stomach and back sleepers who need more support in the lumbar area.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus is also suitable for heavier-set individuals.
We rate the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
For back and stomach sleepers (which this mattress is geared towards), the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus offers ample pressure relief for their main pressure points which are the hips and legs. Don’t even think about pressure relief if you’re a strict side sleeper.
We rate the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus an 8 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Other than a layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam, the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus mattress does not contain any other actively cooling materials but that layer is more than enough to help you sleep cool.
We rate the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus a 6 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
Unfortunately, I experienced quite a significant amount of motion transfer when I tried the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus out with a partner so I don’t recommend it if you share a bed, especially if you’re a light sleeper.
We rate the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
Not only does the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus contain reinforced edge coils but it also features foam edge reinforcements giving it a sturdy and robust edge. You are definitely not falling off the edge of the Avenco Original Hybrid Plus.
#10. Novilla Bliss
Pros
- Very affordable
- Good motion isolation
- Soft and cushioning
- Great for those who suffer from chronic pain
Cons
- Not suitable for strict back and stomach sleepers
- Heat retentive
Why it’s one of the best
Looking for a sleeping experience that feels like a soft and fluffy marshmallow? The Novilla Bliss mattress is that mattress you’re looking for.
Featuring proprietary memory foam layers such as a breathable wave foam (yes, wave) that helps provide targeted support as well as deep compression, the Novilla Bliss mattress is perfect for those who suffer from chronic pain such as fibromyalgia.
Another thing I liked a lot about the Novilla Bliss mattress is that it is very affordable so if you’re on the lookout for a budget-friendly mattress that provides pressure relief and comfortability and won’t sag prematurely, this is your best bet.
If you weigh well over 250 lbs though and are a strict back and stomach sleeper, the Novilla Bliss mattress’ softness will work against you and not for you.

Novilla Bliss Performance
The Novilla Bliss mattress sits on a 4 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a medium-soft feel.
A soft mattress like the Novilla Bliss mattress is best for strict side sleepers and some combination sleepers, especially those that are lightweight.
I do not recommend the Novilla Bliss mattress for strict back and stomach sleepers as well as heavier-set sleepers as the Novilla Bliss would not be able to give them the extra support that they would need.
We rate the Novilla Bliss mattress a 7 out of 10 when it comes to pressure relief.
For its price, the Novilla Bliss mattress offers good pressure relief and deep compression. You can’t expect any Tempur-Pedic sort of compression (duh) but you still get the contouring and comfortability of a traditional memory foam mattress.
We rate the Novilla Bliss mattress a 4 out of 10 when it comes to cooling.
Ok, ok. So you know what I’m going to say. Because it IS made up of traditional memory foam and although some of its foam layers are (supposedly) infused with cooling gel and charcoal, I still found the Novilla Bliss mattress to be very heat retentive so hot sleepers, beware.
We rate the Novilla Bliss mattress a 10 out of 10 when it comes to motion isolation.
As I’ve said, all-foam mattresses are the kings when it comes to motion isolation and the Novilla Bliss is no exception. I did not experience any sort of motion transfer when I tried the mattress out with a partner no matter what movement they did.
We rate the Novilla Bliss mattress a 6 out of 10 when it comes to edge support.
The softness of the Novilla Bliss mattress is working against it when it comes to edge support. You definitely will roll off the edge of the bed if you try to sleep close to the edge.
How we chose these mattresses
We picked these mattresses based on a complete list of factors that we believe make up a great memory foam mattress. We base them all off the following criteria:
- Pressure relief – Everyone has pressure points and this is important when it comes to choosing the right mattress. Depending on a person’s sleeping position, mattress firmness can greatly affect whether you would get enough pressure relief or not. We chose mattresses that offer maximum pressure relief.
- Cooling – Sleeping hot is the number one cause of sleeplessness. Choosing mattresses that offer superb cooling capabilities is crucial to getting a good night’s sleep.
- Firmness – Mattress firmness correlates to one’s preferred sleeping position and we chose mattresses that can suit most, if not all, sleeping positions from back sleeping to stomach sleeping and side sleeping.
- Motion isolation – Picking a mattress that offers good motion isolation is important if you share a bed with a partner. We chose mattresses that are suitable for couples.
- Edge support – Not only does edge support help (and protect!) those who prefer sleeping close to the edge of the bed, having a mattress with good edge support also provides you with a wider mattress surface.
- Durability – We chose mattresses that we know will last long and ones that come with reasonable return policies.
Conclusion
No one and I mean, absolutely no one, wants a mattress that sags prematurely. Sure, with time and constant use, a mattress does go through wear and tear but for a mattress to sag prematurely just means that the mattress is shoddily made with cheap materials that won’t stand the test of time.
The mattresses we have included in this list have been personally tried and tested by our team for their durability and sturdiness.
