As we’ve mentioned before, the combination of latex foam and memory foam offers a mattress feel that’s both responsive and contouring so you really get the best of both worlds when it comes to comfort and pressure relief.

• Pressure relief – We specifically looked for mattresses that contour to a sleeper’s body and distribute body weight evenly. We tested the ability of each mattress to conform to our bodies and relieve pressure points. Based on our experience, memory foam offers the best body-contouring and pressure relief so most of the models on our list contain memory foam layers.
• Zoned support – We looked for mattresses that provide zoned support to help alleviate tension and pain in your lower back. A mattress has zoned support when it’s firmer on the middle part where your lower back rests and softer around the shoulders and legs. A mattress with zoned support also offers extra support for your lumbar region and keeps your spine in a neutral alignment.
