As you may already very well know (but we’ll tell you again anyway), true down is sourced from geese or ducks. Down is fluffy, super soft and insulating. It is also pretty malleable and conforms to your the contours of your body.
But of course there are down sides – true down can sometimes be unethically sourced (although most brands these days have ethical farming practices in place), down can make you sleep hot since it holds warmth in and it can have that distinct barnyard-like smell.

It’s rare to find mattress toppers that contain innerspring coils. One, because they’re too bulky and two, they can be expensive but Saatva has (yet again) gone above and beyond by offering a micro-coil mattress topper that’s essentially a mini innerspring mattress.
The Saatva Micro-Coil mattress topper contains a blend of both CertiPUR-US certified gel-infused memory foam and micro-coils making it a mattress topper that’s both body contouring and responsive.
Gel-infused memory foam also helps diffuse body heat, which makes the Saatva Micro-Coil mattress topper a good choice for hot sleepers who like the cradled-in feel of a regular memory foam mattress topper. The micro-coil system of the Saatva mattress topper also helps with continuous air circulation.
