Top 10 Best Military Discount Mattresses
#1. Saatva Classic
Why it’s the overall best
The Saatva Classic mattress tops a lot of our ‘best of’ lists and for good reason – it’s well-made with premium, eco-friendly materials and comes in a variety of firmness options that can suit all sleeping positions.
Being a hybrid innerspring mattress, the Saatva Classic can also accommodate those who weigh well above average providing them with the extra support that they would need.
Saatva offers a fixed rate military discount of $225 for all of their mattresses for those who are in active duty, reserves as well as veterans, retirees and their families.
But, as with all Saatva products, the Saatva Classic comes at a pretty steep price point. There’s also that little matter of a slight earthy scent that emanate from the mattress due to the natural raw materials used.

Saatva Classic performance
The Saatva Classic mattress comes in 3 different firmness options to choose from: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm.
The Plush Soft option sits on a 3 on the mattress firmness scale which is suitable for side sleepers and combination sleepers.
The Luxury Firm option sits squarely on a 5 on the scale giving it a true medium feel which suits all sleeper types.
The Firm option, as its name suggests, is the Saatva Classic’s firmest option and it sits on a 7 on the mattress firmness scale and is best for strict back and stomach sleepers.
When it comes to pressure relief, we rate the Saatva Classic a 9.4.
The combination of the Saatva Classic’s memory foam comfort layer and innerspring coils provide both the deep contouring of classic memory foam and the responsive support of hybrid mattresses.
You won’t get any of the sinkage that’s usually associated with traditional memory foam though, the Saatva Classic’s coil unit tempers that nicely.
When it comes to cooling, we rate the Saatva Classic a 9.
Like with most innerspring hybrids, the Saatva Classic allows continuous airflow all throughout the mattress which then helps keep it stay cool and fresh.
Even with the memory foam layer, we did not feel any instances of heat retention.
When it comes to motion isolation, we rate the Saatva Classic an 8.7.
We felt a significant amount of movement with the Saatva Classic mattress especially when we tried the mattress out with a heavier partner. If you share a bed and you’re a light sleeper, the Saatva Classic would not be your best bet.
When it comes to edge support, we rate the Saatva Classic a 9.8.
The Saatva Classic mattress features reinforced edge coils that provides extra edge support. You would never feel like you’re in any danger of rolling off the bed even if you sit or lie close to or even on the edge of the bed.
Overall, we rate the Saatva Classic mattress a 9.2 for overall performance.

Alternative pick: Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
If you want something similar to the Saatva Classic mattress but with a thicker memory foam comfort layer, you might want to check out the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid.
Although still responsive, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress offers deeper contouring than the Saatva Classic so if you prefer more of a true memory foam feel but without any of the sinkage, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is your best choice. The $225 military discount also applies to the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid.
#2. Bear Star Hybrid
Why it’s one of the best
Truth be told, nearly all of Bear’s mattresses have impressed us but the Bear Star Hybrid is that silent little dark horse that’s not as popular as its more well-known brothers yet has proven itself to be on par, if not better than some of Bear’s mattress lineup.
Bear offers a whopping 40% off on all their mattresses for those in the military.
The Bear Star Hybrid contains the same Celliant blend cover as with Bear’s other mattresses. Celliant not only helps with temperature regulation but helps with muscle recovery while you sleep as well which is always a plus in my book.
Being a hybrid, the Bear Star Hybrid mattress can accommodate sleepers of all shapes and sizes including those that weigh well over 250 lbs.
It’s not sunshine and roses with the Bear Star Hybrid though because we experienced a tiny bit of off-gassing when we first unboxed the mattress.
Another thing you might not like about the mattress is that if you’re a strict side sleeper and you weigh lighter than average, you might find it to be a bit too firm.
Specs at a glance
Thickness levels | 13 inches |
Firmness levels | Medium Firm |

Bear Star Hybrid performance
The Bear Star Hybrid sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a medium-firm feel. This makes it suitable for most sleeper types.
Bear in mind though that if you are a lightweight and you tend to sleep mostly on your side then you might find the Bear Star Hybrid to be a little too firm which could eat into your main pressure points.
We rate the Bear Star Hybrid a 9.5 when it comes to pressure relief.
The combination of the mattress’ memory foam comfort layer and individually wrapped coils provide contouring support without any of the sinkage that’s usually associated with traditional memory foam.
The Bear Star Hybrid also features a premium pillow top surface that gives a mattress a 5 star hotel bed-like feel.
We rate the Bear Star Hybrid a 9.7 when it comes to cooling.
The Bear Star Hybrid’s cooling Celliant cover is temperature regulating which means it helps you keep cool when it’s hot and keep warm when it’s cold.
Aside from that, the mattress’ memory foam layer is infused with cooling gel that helps do away with heat retention. And as we all know by now, spring coil units in hybrid mattresses allow continuous air flow throughout the mattress which helps keep the mattress stay cool.
We rate the Bear Star Hybrid a 9.6 when it comes to motion isolation.
We found the Bear Star Hybrid to absorb motion transfer really well, similar to most foam mattresses and this is largely in part to its memory foam layer.
If you share a bed with a partner, no matter how much of a restless sleeper they may be, you won’t feel a lot of movement on your side of the bed.
We rate the Bear Star Hybrid a 9.8 when it comes to edge support.
The coil unit of the Bear Star Hybrid features edge to edge coils which enhances and strengthens the entire bed’s edge support. You won’t feel any danger of slipping off the bed if you’re a weirdo like me who likes sleeping very close to the edge of the bed.
Overall, we rate the Bear Star Hybrid a 9.6 for performance.
Factor | Performance |
---|---|
Firmness | Medium Firm |
Cooling | 9.4 |
Pressure relief | 9.7 |
Motion isolation | 9.6 |
Edge support | 9.6 |
Mattress thickness (inches) | 13 |

Warranty (years) | Lifetime |
Alternative pick: Bear Elite Hybrid
If you’ve got a little bit more money to spare for an extra benefits, you might want to take a look at Bear’s bestselling mattress – the Bear Elite Hybrid.
Also made with Celliant but with the addition of PCM (phase change material), the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress features pretty much the same attributes as the Bear Star Hybrid, just with a bit more ‘oomph’ such as copper-infused memory foam and the option to choose between 3 different firmness options.
And of course, the military discount also applies to the Bear Elite Hybrid.
#3. Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
Why it’s one of the best
Good quality mattresses that come at an affordable price are not so difficult to find these days but our favorite has got to be the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid.
Featuring a premium quilted pillow top and proprietary foam layers that provide compression support, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress offers a contouring sleeping experience without any of that stuck in the mud feel.
You get a 30% military discount with all of Brooklyn Bedding’s mattresses.
Brooklyn Bedding also gives you the option to add a softer and cooler mattress surface should you prefer something a bit more cooling and contouring with their cloud pillow top option.
The only thing we didn’t really like about the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is that it’s not as actively cooling as we would have liked even with the coil unit – you need to pay a little more to get the cooling pillow top.

Brooklyn Bedding performance
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress comes in three different firmness options: soft, medium and firm.
The soft option sits on a 4 on the mattress firmness scale and is suitable for those who sleep predominantly on their sides.
The medium option is a 5 on the scale and can accommodate all sleeper types while the firm version sits on a 7 on the scale and is can offer more support to strict back and stomach sleepers.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress is suitable for those who weigh well over 250 lbs.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9.6 when it comes to pressure relief.
The proprietary foam comfort layers of the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid offered deep compression and pressure relief in all main pressure point areas making the mattress a good choice for those who suffer from chronic pain such as fibromyalgia.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid an 8.5 when it comes to cooling.
This is where the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress falls short.
Even with the coil unit the mattress still retained a significant amount of heat. Brooklyn Bedding does offer the option to choose a cooling pillow top but this comes at an extra cost.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9.5 when it comes to motion isolation.
We found the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid to provide excellent motion isolation when we tried the mattress out with a partner making the mattress a good choice for those who share a bed.
We rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9.7 when it comes to edge support.
Good news for those who like sleeping on or close to the edge of the mattress – the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid features edge to edge Ascension coils that help provide extra edge support throughout the entire perimeter of the mattress.
Overall, we rate the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid a 9.3 for performance.
Factor | Performance |

Alternative pick: Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe
If you need something a bit (a LOT) more actively cooling than the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid, check out the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress.
Featuring a cooling GlacioTex cover infused with copper as well as cooling gel-infused memory foam and ascension coils, the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe mattress does not retain any heat giving a much cooler sleeping experience – especially important if you’re an extremely hot sleeper.
#4. Helix Midnight Luxe
Why it’s one of the best
The Helix Midnight Luxe mattress comes with a 25% military discount along with 2 free pillows for those who are in active service and their families as well as veterans.
One of the things we liked about the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress is that you get the option to choose between 2 different cooling covers – a breathable Tencel cover or Helix’s proprietary GlacioTex cover.
The Helix Midnight Luxe mattress also features 3 different foam layers that provide zoned support as well as pressure relief in areas where you need them the most.
The mattress’ coil unit acts as both a shock absorber and lumbar support layer which makes the Helix Midnight Luxe one of the best mattresses for those who suffer from back pain.
One small, little imperfection though – we experience quite a bit of off-gassing when we first unboxed the mattress.

Helix Midnight Luxe performance
The Helix Midnight Luxe mattress sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale which gives it a medium-firm feel.
While this type of mattress firmness can usually accommodate all sleeper types including combination and back sleepers, the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress may be a bit too firm for some side sleepers, especially those who weigh less than average.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9.7 when it comes to pressure relief.
The mattress premium pillow top layer and memory foam comfort layers work seamlessly together to provide exceptional pressure relief from all the main pressure points.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9.4 when it comes to cooling.
Aside from the cooling gel memory foam and coil unit, the Helix Midnight Luxe mattress also offers the option to choose between two different cooling covers, both of which perform very well in keeping heat off the mattress.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9.4 when it comes to motion isolation.
You would think that a hybrid mattress would be springier than an all-foam mattress but the Helix Midnight Luxe did very well when it comes to deadening any cross mattress movement, even when we tried it out with a heavier partner.
We rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9.5 when it comes to edge support.
If you’re someone who sleeps on or close to the edge of the bed, the Helix Midnight Luxe is for you. Edge coils surround the entire perimeter of the mattress which gives it extra edge support.
Overall, we rate the Helix Midnight Luxe a 9.5 for performance.
Factor | Performance |
---|---|
Firmness | Medium Firm |
Cooling | 9.4 |
Pressure relief | 9.7 |
Motion transfer | 9.3 |
Edge support | 9.5 |

Alternative pick: Helix Dusk Luxe
If you want more of a medium feel, the Helix Dusk Luxe is the one for you.
Featuring almost the same comfort foam layers and Ascension coil unit as the Helix Midnight Luxe, the Helix Dusk Luxe offers the same pressure relieving comfort just with a little more contouring and compression making it a good choice for those who suffer from chronic body pain as well as strict side sleepers.
#5. Puffy Royal
Why it’s one of the best
Puffy offers something a little different in the way of a military discount – you get up to $1245 in savings when you purchase any Puffy mattress which is a LOT.
The Puffy Royal mattress is your best bet if you’re looking for a mattress that feels like a 5-star hotel bed. Ultra plush, the Puffy Royal mattress offers exceptional pressure relief by cradling the body’s joints as well as the main pressure points.
The coil unit in the Puffy Royal mattress also offers zoned support aside from helping counteract the comfort layers’ plushness.
Because of that same plushness though, we found that the Puffy Royal mattress didn’t offer much in the edge support department which is kinda disappointing.
Specs at a glance
Thickness levels | 14 inches |

Puffy Royal performance
The Puffy Royal mattress sits on a 4.5 on the mattress firmness scale which makes it a medium. This means it can accommodate all sleeper types including strict side sleepers.
Bear in mind though that mattress firmness is subjective and those who weigh heavier than average may find the Puffy Royal mattress to be a bit on the softer side.
We rate the Puffy Royal a 9.8 when it comes to pressure relief.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that we rate the Puffy Royal mattress highly when it comes to its pressure relieving properties, all thanks to its super plush comfort layers. You won’t feel any pressure eating into any of your pressure points whatsoever.
We rate the Puffy Royal a 9.5 when it comes to cooling.
Almost every layer of the Puffy Royal mattress contains some form of cooling property that helps keep the mattress cool and fresh no matter how high the temperature may be.
We rate the Puffy Royal a 9.7 when it comes to motion isolation.
We barely felt any motion transfer when we tried the mattress out with a partner making the Puffy Royal an excellent choice if you share your bed with a partner.
We rate the Puffy Royal a 9.2 when it comes to edge support.
When it comes to edge support, the Puffy Royal mattress would not be a good choice for those who prefer to sleep close to the edge of the bed due to its lack of reinforced edge coils.
Overall, we rate the Puffy Royal mattress a 9.5 when it comes to performance.
Factor | Performance |

Alternative pick: Puffy Lux
If you’re looking for a plush mattress that’s just a tad bit firmer than the Puffy Royal mattress, check out the Puffy Lux mattress.
Made with the same pressure relieving comfort foams and cool to the touch quilted cover as the Puffy Royal, the Puffy Lux mattress offers contouring and cradling just like the Puffy Royal mattress does, only this one offers the extra support that heavier individuals would need.
#6. Tuft & Needle Mint Hybrid
Why it’s one of the best
The Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid mattress is one of the newest mattress offerings from the Tuft and Needle lineup and we have to say that’s it has impressed us right off the bat.
First of all, the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid features Tuft and Needle’s signature Adaptive foam that offers pressure relief where you need it the most, no matter your preferred sleeping position.
The Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid also features 2 types of coils that offers zoned support in all areas of the body that needs extra support.
Edge to edge coils offer extra edge support which not only helps you get in and out of bed easier (and safer) but is perfect for those who like to sleep close to the edge of the bed.
Those who are on active duty (as well as their families) get a 15% discount off all Tuft and Needle mattresses.
We did experience a tiny amount of off-gassing when we first unboxed the mattress and the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid might feel a bit too firm for some people, especially those who weigh less than average and prefer to sleep on their sides.
Specs at a glance
Thickness levels | 12 inches |

Tuft & Needle Mint Hybrid performance
The Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid sits on a 5.5 on the mattress firmness scale giving the mattress a medium feel.
This makes the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid suitable for all sleeper types including stomach and back sleepers because even though it’s a medium feel, it’s slightly firmer than most giving back and stomach sleepers the extra support that they would need to get proper spinal alignment.
We rate the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a 9.6 when it comes to pressure relief.
The proprietary Adaptive foam in the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid is a memory foam alternative that provides the same cradling and contouring as traditional memory foam but without any of that stuck in the mud feel.
We rate the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a 9.5 when it comes to cooling.
Each of the foam layers of the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid mattress contain diamond particles and copper – both of which are really good heat conductors.
Coupled with the mattress’ coil unit, the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid helps keep heat away from the mattress resulting in a much cooler sleeping experience.
We rate the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a 9.6 when it comes motion isolation.
We did not feel any significant amount of motion transfer when we tried the mattress out with a partner making the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a good choice for couples.
We rate the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a 9.8 when it comes to edge support.
The Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid features denser coils all along the perimeter of the mattress providing extra edge support.
Overall, we rate the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid a 9.6 when it comes to performance.
Factor | Performance |

Alternative pick: Tuft & Needle Original
If you prefer something without coils, check out the Tuft and Needle Original mattress.
The Tuft and Needle Original is an all-foam mattress that features the same Adaptive foam comfort layer as the Tuft and Needle Mint Hybrid but it’s firmer, making it a good bet for those who prefer firmer mattresses without any springs.
#7. Birch Natural
Why it’s one of the best
Made from organic and sustainable materials, the Birch Natural mattress is a latex hybrid mattress that offers both responsive support and pressure relief.
Birch offers a 15% military discount all those who are in active service, their families as well as veterans and first responders.
As you probably already know by now, latex mattresses have a distinct feel compared to manmade polyurethane foams. Pressure relieving yet very responsive, latex mattresses such as the Birch Natural mattress are also naturally cooling and hypoallergenic making them the perfect choice for both hot sleepers and those who suffer from chronic allergies.
If you’re someone who hates that stuck in the mud feel that most traditional foam mattresses have, the Birch Natural latex mattress is the mattress you should be looking for.
Bear in mind though that all-natural mattresses like the Birch Natural may come with a slightly earthy scent that is harmless but can be annoying for some people (personally, I like it).
Specs at a glance
Thickness levels | 11 inches |
Firmness levels | Medium Firm |
Materials | Breathable organic cotton cover, organic wool flame barrier, Talalay latex foam, individually wrapped coils, reinforced side edges |

Birch Natural performance
The Birch Natural mattress sits on a 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale which gives it a medium-firm feel. This makes it suitable for literally all sleeper types, including strict back and stomach sleepers.
However, if you’re a lightweight side sleeper, you might find the Birch Natural to be somewhat firmer and could likely eat into your main pressure points so it’s best to keep that in mind.
We rate the Birch Natural a 9.6 when it comes to pressure relief.
Although the Birch Natural mattress has a completely different feel to traditional foam mattresses such as memory foam, it still offers the same contouring and pressure relief, just without any of the sinkage.
We rate the Birch Natural a 9.7 when it comes to cooling.
As we’ve mentioned pure latex is naturally cooling and we found the Birch Natural to not retain any heat whatsoever, especially with the combination of spring coils and temperature regulating wool barrier and breathable cotton cover.
We rate the Birch Natural a 9.5 when it comes to motion isolation.
We did experience a very small amount of motion transfer when we tried the mattress out with a partner. Nothing too noticeable that you’d wake up and be uncomfortable but if you’re a very, VERY light sleeper, this could be an issue for you.
We rate the Birch Natural a 9.8 when it comes to edge support.
The Birch Natural mattress features reinforced side edges that are slightly raised which in turn provides really strong and sturdy edge support.
Overall, we rate the Birch Natural a 9.6 when it comes to performance.

#8. Purple Plus
Why it’s one of best
Purple is one of the very few mattress brands that have created a special kind of foam that molds to the body perfectly, offering deep compression and exceptional pressure relief.
Made from hyper-elastic polymer, the GelFlex Grid moves and grooves with you while you sleep, cradling every movement you make like a soft, warm hug.
The Purple Plus mattress is an all-foam mattress that (like all of Purple’s mattresses) feature the GelFlex Grid that is both supremely pressure relieving and responsive.
Purple offers a 5% discount off any of their mattresses for those in the military, first responders as well as teachers, nurses and students.
Being an all-foam mattress though, the Purple Plus will not be able to provide enough support for those that weigh well over 250 lbs.
Specs at a glance

Purple Plus performance
The Purple Plus mattress sits on a 4-5 on the mattress firmness scale which gives it a medium-soft feel.
While this makes it suitable for all sleeper types, especially strict side sleepers, those who weigh well over average would not be getting the support that they need for proper spinal alignment.
We rate the Purple Plus a 9.8 when it comes to pressure relief.
With a feel akin to the Dr. Scholl’s insoles, the GelFlex Grid along with the comfort foam layers of the Purple Plus mattress provides deep pressure relief for all your main pressure points.
We rate the Purple Plus mattress a 9.3 when it comes to cooling.
While the GelFlex Grid does a lot in terms of allowing air to circulate throughout through the mattress due to its waffle-like construction, we found that the foam layers still retained a tiny amount of heat in the Purple Plus.
We rate the Purple Plus mattress a 9.7 when it comes to motion isolation.
Like most all-foam mattresses, the Purple Plus mattress did very well in our motion isolation test. We barely felt any movement when we tried the bed out with a partner, even someone heavier.
We rate the Purple Plus mattress a 9.5 when it comes to edge support.
The dual layers of base foam in the Purple Plus mattress provided the same (if not, better) edge support as a mattress with edge to edge coils.
Overall, we rate the Purple Plus mattress a 9.5 when it comes to performance.
Factor | Performance |
---|---|
Firmness | Medium Soft |
Cooling | 9.3 |
Pressure relief | 9.8 |
Motion isolation | 9.7 |
Edge support | 9.5 |
Sinkage | Minimal to none |

Warranty (years) | 10 |
Alternative pick: Purple Flex
If you prefer something a lot firmer than the Purple Plus, check out the Purple Flex mattress.
Instead of the three comfort foam layers like the ones in the Purple Plus, the Purple Flex mattress features only 2 but it still provides that same unique, pressure relieving hug of the GelFlex Grid making it an excellent choice for back and stomach sleepers who prefer a more contouring bed.
#9. Avocado Eco-Organic Mattress
Why it’s one of the best
For those wanting a more natural and organic mattress, it doesn’t get any better than the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress.
The Avocado Eco-Organic mattress is an innerspring hybrid mattress that’s made up of certified organic Dunlop latex, certified organic wool, organic cotton and glue-less individually wrapped recycled steel coils.
Dunlop latex is buoyant providing a more responsive sleeping experience that still keeps pressure off the main pressure points. Along with the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress’ spring coil unit, you get not only pressure relief but extra support – even if you weigh well above average.
The only thing about the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress, like most Avocado mattresses, it can be a little too pricey.

Avocado Eco-Organic Mattress performance
The Avocado Eco-Organic mattress sits directly on a 5 on the mattress firmness scale giving it a true medium feel.
This makes it suitable for all sleeper types from strict side sleepers and combination sleepers to back and stomach sleepers.
Being a hybrid mattress, the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress is also suitable for heavier-set individuals as it can provide them with the extra support that they would need.
We rate the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a 9.6 when it comes to pressure relief.
Although not as contouring as memory foam or any other proprietary foam that’s made to mimic the feel of true memory foam, we found the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress to be pretty pressure relieving.
We rate the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a 9.7 when it comes to cooling.
As we’ve mentioned, pure latex is naturally cooling and along with the coil unit that allows air to flow throughout the mattress freely, makes the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a good choice for hot sleepers.
We rate the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a 9.5 when it comes to motion isolation.
True, latex is pretty buoyant and responsive which can make a bed somewhat bouncy which in turn can lead to motion transfer but the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress did a good job of isolating any cross mattress movement when we tried the bed out with a partner.
We rate the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a 9.7 when it comes to edge support.
The Avocado Eco-Organic mattress features side rails all along the perimeter of the mattress which provides great edge support.
Overall, we rate the Avocado Eco-Organic mattress a 9.6 when it comes to performance.

#10. Leesa Sapira Hybrid
Why it’s one of the best
The Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress contains a memory foam comfort layer that provides a traditional memory foam feel that contours and cradles the joints of the body for maximum pressure relief.
To counteract that traditional memory foam feel which can cause quite a bit of sinkage, the Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress also contains a spring coil unit made up of pocketed coils that help provide more responsive support.
These pocketed coils also help absorb motion transfer.
The mattress cover of the Leesa Sapira Hybrid is made from a blend of viscose and plant-based rayon that’s both breathable and cool to the touch.
Leesa offers a $50 military discount for all of their mattress for active service military members and their families as well as veterans and their families.
The only thing we didn’t like about the Leesa Sapira Hybrid mattress is the fact that its edge support could use a little bit more work.

Alternative pick: Leesa Legend Hybrid
If you’re looking for something with better edge support, check out the Leesa Legend Hybrid.
A bit more upgraded in terms of materials and construction compared to the Leesa Sapira, the Leesa Legend Hybrid also has better edge support so if you prefer sleeping close to the edge of the bed, the Leesa Legend would be the better alternative.
How we picked these mattresses
We picked these mattresses based on a complete list of factors that we believe make up a great mattress. Plus, in the case of these particular brands, we picked them based on their military discount offers.
- Pressure relief – Everyone has pressure points and this is important when it comes to choosing the right mattress. Depending on a person’s sleeping position, mattress firmness can greatly affect whether you would get enough pressure relief or not. We chose mattresses that offer maximum pressure relief.
- Cooling – Sleeping hot is the number one cause of sleeplessness among the greater population and choosing mattresses that offer superb cooling capabilities is crucial to getting a good night’s sleep.
- Firmness – Mattress firmness correlates to one’s preferred sleeping position and we chose mattresses that can suit most, if not all, sleeping positions from back sleeping to stomach sleeping and side sleeping.
- Motion isolation – Picking a mattress that offers good motion isolation is important if you share a bed with a partner. We chose mattresses that are suitable for couples.
- Edge support – Not only does edge support help (and protect!) those who prefer sleeping close to the edge of the bed, having a mattress with good edge support also provides you with a wider mattress surface.
- Durability – We chose mattresses that we know would last long and ones that come with reasonable return policies.

Conclusion
A military discount is a special discount that is given to member of all branches of the military in the United States. This includes both active duty, retirees, veterans as well as reservist military members. At times, certain brands can extend the military discount to military spouses as well as other family members.
A good number of mattress brands also extend the same discount to those who work as first responders, healthcare professionals as well as teachers.
Valid identification is the main requirement to get a military discount and at times, you may also be asked to provide additional documentation. All brands use an encrypted, third party verification service to verify information.
